We were a bit disappointed with our stay as it was evident that the facility was in a semi close down state. The cafe was closed of which we were not aware when booking. The owners web site did mention but other web sites were silent on this. We never did find reception for either check in or check out. When booking we thought this would be a small resort with 5 cabins so we were somewhat surprised to find a school group we’re camped within the grounds and using the facilities. We can not fault the accomodation. The unit was modern, refurbished and spacious. Overall, we would not stay again and would look for alternatives.

Everything we hoped it would be and more. All the extra details such as being walked to our villa, provided a map & talked through the highlights, fresh milk in the fridge, quality soaps & eco friendly items throughout. The villas are secluded and the cafe on site is wonderful with lovely staff and amazing homemade cakes & meals. The villa is immaculate, the gardens make you feel like you are in another country. We can’t wait to come back in summer to enjoy the pool. Thanks for a perfect few days.

This is a great place to stay. It is family owned and managed. Staff and management are as good as it gets. They are friendly efficient and genuinely interested in the guests. The cafe is busy and a magnet for locals. The food and coffee is delicious. We stayed for a week and enjoyed our villa - it had been refurbished and was very comfortable. Elvis gave us great tips on the area. Maybe a printed sheet and map in the room would be a good idea.

Perfect stay. Located a short distance out of Agnes Waters, this tranquil mini resort is 5 stars all the way.I stayed in Villa 2. Great size, large bathroom, giant shower with great pressure, comfy bed, air con and fan in bedroom. Tastefully decorated. Quiet, spotlessly clean. Stroll to the cafe for breakfast or dinner ( 2 nights a week). Closed Saturdays. The staff are brilliant. A great shop is located in the cafe, easy to pick up some top notch souvenirs. Had the best avo on toast takeaway the morning of my reef cruise. In house breakfast and coffee are great ( no bacon, just saying!) Only suggestion is some in room info re breakfast times etc. Eleven out of ten from me.

We went as a family of four to Agnes Water. It’s such a tiny little town, not a huge selection of restaurants but a great place to relax. 1770 Getaway did not disappoint. The cottages are fairly modern and clean. The grounds are very lush and peaceful. The 1770 getaway cafe offers great breakfast options and coffee. We thought the service was great. The kids loved the pool which they had all to themselves when we went for a dip! I’m usually a bit fussy with hotels as they often feel a bit dirty but was very pleased with the level of cleanliness of our room. My only feedback would maybe be to invest in new lounges as the upholstery was peeling. I highly recommend 1770 getaway for a quiet peaceful place to stay. Ps- Round Hill Pizza is great

We stayed 2 nights on road trip up north. Although not right in the centre of town, which suited us, the Villas are set in secluded tropical garden with delightful cafe attached. Sure there was no designated reception but with helpful staff it created a very relaxed atmosphere which added to its charm. The cafe is only open for dinner Wednesday and Saturday with limited choice but compared to other options was well patronised and lunches very fresh and tasty. Our Villa was very tastefully appointed and furnished and we lacked nothing. We loved the relaxed but very smart atmosphere of 1770 Getaway and highly recommend.

We decided to stay here for a night on our road trip to North Queensland and our only wish was that we could stay longer. Beautiful spot. The villa was very well equiped, the bed very comfortable and had all the comforts of home.

We had two nights at 1770 Getaway and 3 meals in the cafe, so got a good idea of what it offers. The resort is a little out of town— you need a car to go in to shop or eat there. The villas are set in a beautiful garden, and are perfect for two. The bed is big and very comfortable, the bathroom excellent, and the lounge area and kitchen comfortable. The cafe is open for breakfast and lunch and closes at 3pm. The food emphasises healthy and fresh ingredients, and is very reasonably priced. The cafe is nicely positioned over a big Lilly pond. The owners are very helpful and pleasant, and willingly give advice about local things to do. All up, a very pleasant stay
