Acharavi Beach Hotel

What an amazing place. Good food, wonderful friendly staff, fantastic rooms (although we would off liked a kettle in our room) comfiest bed & pillows and the food was first class... Just adored my week there. Only downer off the week was being falsely accused off not paying my bar bill which made us boycot the bar the last 2 nights. Understandably.. But I would go back in a heartbeat. Big mention to Magda and Victoria who made our stay even more pleasant. ❤️

We booked 2 rooms, and then extended our stay despite of our plans because we liked the hotel very much. We had an amazing breakfast selection, great service, nice beach right under our feet. The only negative is that we were assigned the old and outdated rooms. I believe their renovated rooms offer a much better value. We were also hoping for a spa experience such as a sauna or hamaam, but they only had extremely overpriced massages to offer.

Beautiful hotel ,grounds,cleaners never stop,rooms are a good size ,plenty of storage,stunning views from the balcony and right on the beach,food tasty and lots of choices but geared more for the Germans food wise, never had mashed potatoes,custard ,pork sausage rice pudding all week ,but never went hungry,staff especially Ionnions,was worth his weight in gold and his English was great, the waiting staff was so quick to attend to your needs in the restaurant,first time I have been at a hotel that is so relaxing at the pools with no music blasting out ,so chilled,shops a short walk away, and along the beach takes you into another sceanic town of Roda, with lots of shops , restaurants, cafes and supermarkets ,only downsize I found was to pay for the sunbeds in the beach that belonged to the hotel !!! .

What a lovely hotel. The front desk, waiter and waitresses were nice and friendly. My biggest praise is to the unsung heroes, the cleaning staff and gardeners etc. The rooms were clean and the gardens and pools really lovely. Cannot fault the personnel. Food was good with plenty of choices but can be repetitive. Luckily, we were only there for a week. The pools were wonderful and plenty of sun loungers. The rooms were adequate and nice but the bathroom was a bit dated and the showerhead leaking and needed replacement. But usable. Main criticism are: 1. No sign displayed near the beach that the sun loungers cost 6 Euros per day to hire. In all our holidays in Europe, this is the first time a beach hotel charges to sit near the sea. Was surprised we were not charged for swimming in the sea. 2. While, the rooms were non smoking, smoking was allowed on the balcony. This was most unpleasant when you are a non smoker and the adjacent rooms were filled with smokers puffing away on their balconies. Would have been nice if they had blocks of rooms where smoking were permitted on the balconies and some entirely non smoking. 3. While not the hotel's fault, there was a persistent owl that kept squeaking like a submarine sonar every night. Some nights, it was a fair distant from our room, quite a few nights it was literally outside the room. Most guest we spoke too dreaded his nocturnal visit. 4. No kettle for coffee/tea. This is a 4 star hotel. Big disappoin**ent. If management can remedy the above points bar the owl, this hotel will be a real winner!

Currently a guest. 4* (what a joke) and they do not even provide drinking water. Not only that you cannot have it delivered to your room and pay for it. You have to go and find a mini market and pay for it. Water. Its 2023. In addition- you have to pay for the towels by the hotel, pool and beach. 4 star!!!!!! As if. Finally. The rooms on the website are not the rooms you get. And today I arrived and got a breakfast and when they say it’s until 1015 (i arrived at 2.30am) everything is cleared away by 10.15. Everything is geered towards a german market. Its money grabbing and awful. Even the toilet paper is like sandpaper. AVOID!!!!!!!!!

A lovely clean hotel with incredibly friendly staff. The rooms were a little small but this was a minor concern as the rest of the hotel was great. The big pool by the Vissalo area is gorgeous and so pretty at night when it lights up. The area is clean and plenty of sunbeds. We went half board and the food was good, we had a fussy vegetarian with us and she had plenty of choice too. There is a local supermarket near the hotel. Beach was lovely and watersports (payable) on offer too. Great little bars all along the front. We walked into town which has a good range of shops and hired a car for a few days to explore the area.

Lovely hotel great pool plenty of sunbeds near to the beach. Restaurant has good choice of food. A little noisy at dinner. Rooms very good the gardens are fabulous. Shame you have to pay for sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach

The bathroom was not that big and rather basic compared to the rest of the room and the other accomodations. After 1 week the handshower was broken, the rainshower was still operational. The reception was informed. Our surprise was big when we wanted to shower the next evening, the rainshower was eliminated but we had again a working handshower. Why eliminating the rainshower? If they needed to choose, than eliminate the handshower and not the rainshower. The reception was not able to tell the why of the decission. But showering during a heatwave like that was going back 20 years in time.

This hotel has some great points and then sadly some not so great. I think it depends on what you want from a holiday. Firstly the staff, the reception staff are amazing, we had an issue with our rooms and without any issues they moved us to other rooms, which were lovely, we had a pool view and was very quiet. Most of the other staff are really friendly, but as in most places you always get the odd one who is not, but it wasn't a major issue. The cleaning staff need huge praise, the hotel is kept immaculate and our rooms was kept spotless, towels changed everyday etc. The food was really good, always served at a good temperature and plenty of choice, although a bit samey was still really nice. Our couple of not so good points now. Firstly the smoking, with the exception of inside the main part of the hotel you can smoke anywhere, this may not be a problem for some, but when you are sitting at one of the tables near the outside or even in the other restaurant and people are either at the next table or just outside the restaurant area smoking it is not pleasant, especially as there is also a children's play area near by. Most 4 star hotels we have stayed in have designated areas for smoking, which is a much better idea. The second issue we have is that although the hotel has all its own sunbeds on the piece of beach right next to the pool and the sunbeds are run by the hotel staff, you still have to pay for them. This is quite frankly outrageous, it seems like it is just a way of making money. For a 4 star hotel this is really poor and is what in our opinion pushes it way down the ranking. The area in general is quite bad for mosquitos, even the staff were mentioning it, this is not a hotel problem and they do their best, but is something to be aware of when choosing this area. Overall we had a great stay at this hotel, with just a few issues in general, but certainly did not let it ruin our stay. Thank you Acharavi Beach Hotel
