Căn hộ sạch sẽ (tôi sống ở số 22) được trang trí theo phong cách gỗ đơn giản. Bên trái lối vào là phòng tắm và phòng ngủ có ban công, bên phải là bếp mở, bàn ăn và phòng khách nhỏ có ban công. Căn hộ không có lễ tân. Bạn vào cửa và vào phòng bằng mật khẩu. Mật khẩu sẽ được gửi đến hộp thư của bạn ba hoặc bốn giờ trước khi nhận phòng. Sữa chua có giá hơn 2 euro cho nhóm ba người, trứng có giá 1,69 euro cho sáu người và bánh mì có giá hơn 2 euro cho nhóm hơn một người một chút. Có quá nhiều lựa chọn, và rau, trái cây, sữa, pho mát và nhu yếu phẩm hàng ngày đều có sẵn. Có các quán cà phê, tiệm bánh và cửa hàng tráng miệng nằm rải rác khắp nơi gần đó, và tất cả các ghế ngồi đều ở bên ngoài cửa hàng. Đi tàu điện ngầm từ sân bay đến căn hộ (xem ảnh cuối), đi Tuyến 3 (tuyến màu xanh lam) đến Constitution Square, chuyển sang Tuyến 1 (tuyến màu xanh lá cây) đến Kato Patissla, ra khỏi ga và đi theo chỉ dẫn để đi bộ trong năm phút.

We got the junior suite for our family of 4. The room was quite spacious and the kids loved the jacuzzi bathtub. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Service was excellent. Location was also great with the subway just outside. The view of Athens from the rooftop was also awesome… a great way to end our stay at Athens being able to see all the places we visited. The only issue I had was with the parking. While the hotel has parking, lots are limited and was full when we arrived. I had to find street parking. The first night, I was lucky and found one quite quickly and only about 6mins walk from the hotel. The second night, I took close to an hour to find parking. There was paid 24hr parking across the street but they couldn’t accommodate our larger car. The only other slight problem with our room was that the wind would hit against the door early in the morning when other people where checking out… as ours was a corner unit. It sounded like someone was slamming on our door and it woke me up. Took me awhile to figure out the rapping on the door was caused by the wind and not some prankster.

Athens Airport has long been my gateway between Ireland and Israel, and Sofitel is the only real comfortable option for an overnight layover. The location is unbeatable — you just walk out of the terminal, cross three zebra crossings, and you’re in the lobby. The hotel is definitely 5-star and feels it in cleanliness and comfort. The room was spotless and quiet, and I appreciated the complimentary coffee and water. However, prices are steep. Normally it’s around €400 per night for two adults and a child, though I managed to book midweek for about half that. Still expensive, but I wanted comfort — and got it. The booking didn’t clearly confirm if an extra bed was included for my child, and neither Trip nor the hotel replied to my message, though we did get the bed in the end without extra charge. Breakfast is not included in the high price, and €30 per person felt excessive, so we skipped it. Also, food options are overpriced — €22 for a “Greek salad” that oddly came with ricotta. We ended up getting Burger King from the terminal, much better value. The indoor pool was clean but the water was colder than expected and the size modest. The shower had fluctuating warm water, a small annoyance but tolerable for one night. Overall: great convenience and comfort for an airport hotel, but pricing for food and extras feels unreasonable.

Our first trip to Europe, so there were things that I imagine are very European. Tiny elevators and key card access to power your room were a first for us. We were only there for one night before leaving on a cruise, but overall I was very happy with our stay. The front desk check in was excellent and the breakfast spread was outstanding. The loud returning guest at 1:30 in the morning were the only irritant, and that was bad guests and not the hotels fault.
