Talawa Connect is excited to announce the return of their highly anticipated programme dedicated to local artist development. Through a series of workshops, masterclasses, and networking events, Talawa Connect aims to empower and support artists in their creative journeys. 

One of the upcoming events in the Talawa Connect Presents series is a session on Production & Distribution. This session will be led by Angie Moneke and Delphine Lievens from the T A P E Collective. They will explore the intricacies of film production and distribution, using T A P E's recent films as case study examples. Attendees will have the unique opportunity to learn about the journey of a film from script to screen and gain insights into approaching key milestones. The workshop will also provide a live workshop session where participants can workshop their own ideas currently in development.

The event will take place on Monday, 7th January 2024, from 7pm to 9:30pm at Talawa Studio, located in Fairfield Halls, Park Lane, Croydon, CR9 1DG. 

T A P E is a South London-based curatorial film collective that challenges traditional ways of filmmaking and strives to demystify the industry for marginalized voices. Since its establishment in 2015, T A P E has curated numerous screenings and events with a focus on representation, identity, and heritage. Their aim is to provide greater exposure for underrepresented films and offer a more diverse range of cinematic work to the public.

Angie Moneke, a BIFA-nominated producer, and Delphine Lievens, a freelancer in UK independent film distribution and exhibition, will bring their expertise to this session. Angela has an impressive track record, working with renowned production companies such as Working Title Films and boasting credits on notable projects. Delphine has valuable experience in film distribution and exhibition, with a focus on supporting diverse and independent films in the UK.
