Join Rachel Cohen for the second day of the Monoprint and Drypoint Weekend in Brighton. This exclusive event, taking place on Sunday, December 10, offers participants the opportunity to explore the art of Drypoint etching. This intaglio print technique involves scratching a design onto a surface and then using a press to print it. During the workshop, you will create unique designs on clear plastic and recycled cartons using black and colored inks, as well as tissue paper collage. 

For those looking to fully immerse themselves in the weekend's activities, there is an option to sign up for both Day 1 and Day 2. On the first day, participants will learn the art of Monoprinting, a method for creating one-off prints. This will include instruction on two techniques: the direct method and subtraction method. Working on sheets of glass or plastic, you will use rollers, brushes, pencils, and pens, along with black and colored printing inks and various types of paper. These techniques can easily be replicated at home or in your own studio.

No prior experience or drawing skills are necessary, making this event suitable for artists of all levels, including beginners. All necessary materials will be provided, though participants are encouraged to bring their own images, such as drawings or photographs, for inspiration. The event will take place at Phoenix Art Space in Brighton, located at 10-14 Waterloo Pl, BN2 9NB. Please come dressed in old clothing, as printing can be messy.

Tickets for Day 2 of the Monoprint and Drypoint Weekend are priced at £80. Alternatively, you can join the full weekend for a discounted price of £130.
