Deep Blue Sea: Creating Art from Creatures of the Pacific with Duncan Berry is an exceptional masterclass that offers a unique opportunity to learn the art of Gyotaku. Led by renowned artist Duncan Berry, this workshop allows participants to create stunning archival prints of marine life while also supporting the FisherPoets Gathering.

Taking place in the captivating city of Astoria, Oregon, this masterclass invites you to explore the enchanting underwater world of the Pacific coastline. Discover the beauty of creatures such as Salmon, Rock Fish, Rock Crab, and various species of Octopus as you delve into the art of printmaking. Don't worry if you have no previous art experience - this workshop is designed for everyone.

During this engaging 2 1/2 hour session, Duncan Berry will guide you through the process of creating your own prints. Each participant will have the opportunity to take home a dozen or so prints while gaining valuable insights into the lives and habitats of these marvelous creatures. As an added bonus, there will be a few surprises along the way.

Coinciding with the workshop, the RiverSea Gallery in Astoria will host an exhibit of the same name, allowing you to further immerse yourself in the art and beauty of the deep blue sea. Additionally, Duncan Berry will be performing at the Fisher Poet gathering, adding another layer of artistry and culture to your experience.
