Together, they will delve into Montiel's groundbreaking exhibition and her collaborative projects with the PSU and Portland community. Following the conversation, indulge in a reception to further explore Montiel's thought-provoking work. Open to the public, this program promises an enriching experience. Nuria Montiel, a prominent artist, obtained her BA in Visual Arts from the School of Art & Design of the National Autonomous University of Mexico. Additionally, she holds an MFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Montiel's impressive career includes residencies at prestigious institutions such as Federico Sevilla Sierra Printmaking Residency at Mullowney Printing in Oregon and Casa Wabi in Oaxaca. Currently, she serves as a professor at the Fine Arts Department of the Universidad de las Americas de Puebla (UDLAP) in Mexico. This exceptional exhibition is curated by Alberto McKelligan Hernández, Ph.D., and is supported by The Jackson Foundation, Arias Sevilla Charitable Fund, and Nike Community Impact Fund. Accessibility initiatives for this event have been made possible by the Richard & Helen Phillips Charitable Fund.
