They expertly blend elements from black history, hip hop, and comic book mythology to create innovative universes, cutting-edge technologies, and poignant satires that offer a fresh perspective on our present reality.

The exhibition showcases captivating artwork loaned from the Atlanta University Center Robert W. Woodruff Library. Each piece by Black Kirby serves as a unique artifact from an alternate universe, completely independent from its earthly origins. Derived from a previous exhibition titled "The Alchemist's Notebook: The Satire, Remixes, and Haunts of Black Kirby," this event explores the themes of black history, hip hop, and comic book mythology through more than fifty digital artworks by Black Kirby and intriguing artifacts.

In addition to the community discussion, the exhibition offers a range of classes and events for attendees to immerse themselves in the world of Afrofuturism. These include an archival special viewing exploring Afro-Surrealism and the Negritude Movement, a community class on intermediate illustration, an opportunity to experience the process of creating Afrofuturistic artwork, a creative feedback and career lab, and an ekphrastic poetry workshop.
