Phòng sạch sẽ và nhân viên rất thân thiện. Khách sạn nằm ở vị trí rất thuận tiện. Tuy nhiên, có hai vấn đề khá rõ ràng mà tôi chưa từng gặp phải ở các khách sạn cùng mức giá tại Trung Quốc: 1. Vòi sen không có nước nóng. Sau khi hỏi nhân viên, họ nói sẽ sửa chữa vào buổi tối. Nhưng đến khi tôi trả phòng vào ngày hôm sau, dù chưa tắm, vấn đề vẫn chưa được giải quyết. Lý do được đưa ra là do đường ống bị vỡ và tôi hiểu rằng có những vấn đề không thể giải quyết nhanh chóng. Nhưng ở mức độ lưu trú này, nhân viên nên thông báo n*** khi phát hiện ra vấn đề. Điều duy nhất tôi nhận được là lời xin lỗi và một sticker WeChat. Trong mùa đông lạnh giá dưới 0 độ, không có nước nóng thì thật là không thể chấp nhận được. 2. Bữa sáng không ngon. Buffet rất sơ sài: Chỉ có một ít bánh mì trắng với bơ và mứt (đã hết từ ngày đầu tiên tôi ở đó) và một ít khoai lang cùng trứng luộc. Tôi đã đính kèm hình ảnh bên dưới. Ngoài ra còn có một gian bếp nhỏ nấu hoành thánh hoặc bún, đồ ăn cũng tạm được, nhưng vào ngày đầu tiên thì vô cùng đông đúc và hỗn loạn. Có rất nhiều người đứng trước quầy và chỉ có một đầu bếp rất căng thẳng vừa nhận đơn đặt hàng vừa nấu nướng. Tôi phải đợi khá lâu mới có đồ ăn. Ngày hôm sau tôi đến sớm hơn (8 giờ sáng) và không đông như vậy (những bức ảnh này được chụp lúc đó).

The hotel is pretty and I booked it for 1 night as a luxury treat so I could get a good rest for my layover stop to another destination. My room smelt like stale smoke unfortunately, though I had asked for non-smoking. I paid extra on my booking for breakfast and had to wake up at 6am, eat breakfast at 6.30am and go to the airport at 7.20am. My room had a bathtub so I took a bath before bedtime and went to bed at midnight, I got up to go switch the lamp off at 1am and found this bug crawling up the side of my bed going towards me. I think it's either a tick or a bed bug, the body was full of blood. It had 6 or 8 legs, difficult to see but I took a video which doesn't allow me to upload. I don't have any problems with normal bugs such as spiders, but if it is a tick or bedbug it is a big problem. I was really worried there were more hiding inside the bed, I called reception for help and they looked at the bug which I caught in a glass cup. They apologised deeply and changed my room, so I had to move at 1.30am. I explained I was already tired and have to wake up early. In the new room I was unable to sleep as I kept worrying about bed bugs. I got up multiple times to check my bed. And there was a noisy couple next door talking loudly until very late so I couldn't sleep. For a luxury hotel you should not need to loose a whole night's sleep because you are worried about bedbugs or ticks biting you. Nor should be able to hear noise from other guests through the wall. I was extremely exhausted the next day and did not have any appetite. I asked if they could refund the extra I paid for breakfast because I couldn't eat it, but they said it wasn't possible. So I forced myself to try eat 1 egg and some small rice porridge but couldn't finish it. Really expensive to pay for breakfast and hardly eat, it's a shame they couldn't refund the breakfast considering I had no sleep. For a 5* hotel, I would like to have good rest and peaceful sleep. But it was not like that. The staff were very kind and helpful, but it's not so easy to travel here alone. It was not easy to book a taxi for the following morning to the airport and it took 40 minutes of assistance, the man was very kind and helpful, but the hotel should make an easier system for foreign guests to book taxi. When I first arrived in Jinan airport, I had no idea how to get to the hotel. There is no ATM inside the hotel so you cannot withdraw cash, and you cannot pay with foreign card to book a taxi. The shangri-la website did not provide any details for public transport. It simply said bus transfer was available but did not say which number bus. I would give the details here but I have forgotten the route name and bus number now as it was hectic and I was very tired, sorry. I had to waste a lot of time trying to ask for help at the airport as the staff did not speak English. Luckily someone helped me. The bus will cost 20yuan and take you into the centre where you will see the intercontinental hotel and a large shopping mall on the left side of the bus, get off at that stop, it takes 1 hour. From there it's only 5 minutes walk to shangri-la. For a big hotel they should provide easy instructions on the website to guests. The staff apologised deeply for the bug on the bed, and offered 10% reduction of the room rate. Although when I checked out no refund was given and they didn't mention anything about it, I think they just charged full price. Personally I think 10% is not enough anyway. Nobody wants to change rooms at 1.30am because of bugs crawling on the bed. I didn't get any sleep at all and felt itchy because I kept thinking about bugs and couldn't eat the breakfast. I was absolutely exhausted the following day so I was unable to do anything at my next destination and had to waste 1 day more to rest. Unfortunately not an easy experience at the shangri-la.

AArnont BoosarawongseWe had such a wonderful stay! The location is absolutely perfect—having the May 4th Square Metro station right outside the front door made getting around so easy. It’s also great value for the price. Everyone on the staff was so kind, but a special shoutout goes to the housekeeping team. They were so attentive and even left us a sweet little note in our room, which was such a lovely touch! We’re already looking forward to staying here again on our next trip to Qingdao.

İ wanted to drink a beer and they told me to go to the supermarket. İ wanted to order room service after 20.30 they told me no english and hung up on my face. After 10 mins 2 people came to my room telling me they dont have room service, after 20.30 even though the menu said 24 hours. The next day i tried to order at 16.00 and they told me it starts at 18.30… the design and the quality of the hotel is maybe the best ive seen in my life but the service is 0/10 … no cola to drink no food to eat .. i would not reccomend if you want to spend a lot of time in it.

NNatasha PutterMy kids and I spent a week in Qingdao and stayed at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. It turned out to be a lovely getaway. The room was clean, well-stocked with everything we needed, and offered a stunning ocean view—plus, we were treated to fireworks every evening right from our window, which was a magical touch. Breakfast was available every morning with a good range of options; we appreciated the variety. Room service was a hit with the kids—they couldn’t get enough of the spaghetti bolognaise and popcorn chicken! I personally enjoyed the club sandwich and the beef noodles. We devoted an entire day to the water park, where the kids had an absolute blast. Although some parts of it could use renovation, it didn’t dampen our fun. One of our favorite activities was cruising around the resort on four-wheel e-bikes—it felt like a private adventure since much of the area was quiet and fairly abandoned, but that added a special charm. The beach is also just across the road, so you can go play in the sand at any time, there are also some men who offer horse and jet ski rides right on the beach. The beach also isn’t too crowded. The only drawback was the resort’s location. It’s quite far from most of Qingdao’s main attractions, so every excursion required at least an hour-long Didi ride. Still, the experience was well worth it, and we genuinely enjoyed our stay. We’d absolutely return again.
