13/01 đến 23/01Track flooding and bridge damage disrupts routes between Liskeard and LooeThời Gian:Thứ 3, 13 tháng 1, 2026 đến Thứ 6, 23 tháng 1, 2026Hãng Khai Thác:Great Western RailwayThông Tin Liên Quan:The line between Liskeard and Looe remains closed following a period of recent heavy rain which flooded the track. The water levels have now dropped and Network Rail have been able to inspect the bridge structures. The results of the investigation have confirmed some damage that will require repair work. This will need to be carried out before the line can be reopened and trains are able to run again. No trains will operate between Liskeard and Looe until at least the end of the day Friday 23 January. Rail replacement transport will run as stated below. Please note, there is no Sunday service on this route. Customer advice: Replacement minibuses will operate at train departure times from Liskeard and Looe. The designated stops for the replacement road transport are as follows: Liskeard - at the front of the station. Sandplace - bus stops by the station entrance. Looe - at the front of the station. If you are travelling to / from Coombe Junction Halt, St Keyne Wishing Well Halt or Causeland please call Great Western Railway customer services on 0345 700 0125, or use the station help point for taxis to be arranged. Additionally, you may use your ticket on Transport for Cornwall bus route 73 between Liskeard and Looe at no extra cost. Additional information: Once the water levels drop again, repair work will be able to begin, and we should then be able to give a more accurate date for the line reopening. Currently we do not expect to run trains until Friday 23 January at the earliest.

Although work has taken place to allow the line to reopen, trains have to run at a reduced speed. As a result, a reduced service is currently in operation between these stations. Network Rail are completing some further emergency engineering work between Brockenhurst and Lymington Pier on both Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 January. Over this weekend, trains will be unable to operate between these stations and will be replaced by rail replacement bus services. From Monday 19 January, the reduced service between these stations will resume and is expected to be in place until the day on Friday 23 February. Customer advice: Initial work has taken place to reopen the line. However, due to the complexity of the issues found, further work is needed to take place and the work is likely to take several weeks to be completed. As a result, trains will be subject to minimal delay while they run at a reduced speed along the line and the service will be reduced to an hourly service in order to minimise disruption. Network Rail need to complete emergency engineering work between Brockenhurst and Lymington Pier on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 January meaning that trains will not be able to run on these days. Rail replacement buses will run every 30 minutes on Saturday, and every 60 minutes on Sunday. Journey Planners will be updated 24 hours in advance.

As a result, trains are unable to run between Wigan Wallgate and Salford Crescent via Daisy Hill and will divert via Bolton. At present, no trains or replacement buses will call at Daisy Hill. Trains will not call at Hag Fold, Atherton, Walkden, Moorside, and Swinton (Manchester), but will be served by rail replacement buses. This is expected to continue until the end of the day. Customer advice: Services that normally run between Southport and Stalybridge / Manchester Oxford Road via Bolton are NOT affected. Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including Advance and Peak restrictions, during this disruption. Restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption ends. Road transport: Road transport has been arranged to operate between Wigan Wallgate and Salford Crescent as follows below. Please note however, that as a result of the road closures in place because of the burst water main, buses are currently unable to call at Daisy Hill station. Instead, the replacement buses will stop at Westhoughton. The distance between the two stations is approximately 1.3 miles. As a result, trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes, revised or diverted. Disruption is expected until 14:30. Customer advice: Network Rail have investigated the rail and will need to carry out immediate repair work. East Midlands Railway are currently waiting for an update on how long this will take. How does this affect my train? Trains running between Nottingham and Newark Castle can not run and will be diverted or altered at last minute, where services are diverted an extended journey time of up to 60 minutes can be expected. How do I get where I need to be? Lincoln - Nottingham: If you are at Lincoln you can use your tickets at no additional charge on Northern services to travel to Worksop, at Worksop you can change for East Midlands Railway services to Nottingham. This option is available in both directions and will add up to 60 minutes to your journey. Lincoln - Newark: If you are at Lincoln you can use your tickets on LNER services at no additional charge to travel to Grantham you can change here for East Midlands Railway services to Nottingham or LNER services to Newark Northgate. This option is available in both directions and will add up to 60 minutes to your journey. Intermediate Stations: East Midlands Railway have requested replacement buses to run and are currently waiting for more information on what is available. More information to follow.

As all lines are currently closed, trains will be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised. Major disruption is expected until 16:00. CrossCountry customer advice: Macclesfield and Stoke-On-Trent will not be served. Your ticket can be used at no extra cost on the following services and routes: Avanti West Coast services between Stafford and Manchester Piccadilly in both directions. Northern between Manchester Piccadilly and Macclesfield in both directions. If your CrossCountry train is cancelled, then you can use your ticket on the two CrossCountry services operating before and the two CrossCountry services after your cancelled service. Unfortunately, any seat reservations will not be carried over, but Coach B, H and L are our unreserved coaches on CrossCountry services (where available) so please head to them. You can view the formation of our trains via www.realtimetrains.co.uk. If you decide to travel from a different station due to this disruption and need to return to that station later, you will also be able to use your existing ticket to do this at no extra cost. East Midlands Railway customer advice: East Midlands Railway have requested buses to shuttle between Crewe and Stoke-On-Trent. More information will follow when confirmed. If you are at Crewe and you wish to travel to Derby / Nottingham you can use your tickets at no additional cost to travel with London North Western Railway to Tamworth, you can then change at Tamworth for CrossCountry services to Nottingham and Derby. This option applies in the opposite direction too and will added up to 60 minutes to your journey time. London Northwestern Railway customer advice: Rail replacement buses will run between Stafford and Crewe until further notice.
