Interactive art at Digital Light Canvas

Created by TeamLab, the Japanese team behind many interactive art and installations found locally and overseas, the ice skating rink in Marina Bay Sands had been converted to the Digital Light Canvas. As the name implies, it has an interactive element where kids or the young at heart can walk or run across the installation to create interactive art. There are mainly two parts; the first shows schools of fishes freely swimming around and walking on the fishes make them “swim away”. The second part shows colourful flowers floating around and walking around will paint calligraphic strokes on the canvas. Admission is 5 dollars per person. You may sign up as a Sands member for free to enjoy the discounted price of 3.50 dollars. While in the day, there were very few people, I will personally prefer to go at night when it gets darker and the lighting effects are prettier and more outstanding. Alternatively, if you do not mind not having the interactive element, you can catch a bird’s eye view from the second floor which will be just as spectacular. #artshunting
