Harbin's beautiful old town

Harbin has a long history of foreign influence. This is probably best visible in the old Town, which runs almost parallel to Central Street. Just walk your way up from Central Street Station to the river bank. If you start at Central Street Station you can have a look at the New Synagogue. A little further along is the beautiful Old Synagogue, which now houses a coffee shop. Further along the road you'll come across several other old buildings including the tartar mosque and the spectacular Jewish middle school. Most of these buildings are over a hundred years old, built in the beginning of the 20th century.
