Chongqing graffiti street

Huangjueping Graffiti Street is the largest graffiti art in China and the world. It is located in Huangjueping Area of Jiulongpo District, Chongqing City. It starts from Huangjueping Railway Hospital and ends at 501 Art Gallery, with a total length of 1.25 km (0.8 miles) and an area of about 50,000 square meters (12 acres). Huangjueping is well-known for being the location of Sichuan Fine Art Institute. Huangjueping Graffiti Street was launched by Luo Zhongli, president of Sichuan Fine Art Institute. The whole graffiti project was finished by more than 800 painters, students and artists, using 12.5 tons (2, 7558 lb) of paints, and 30, 000 brushes of various types. A total of 37 buildings were painted with graffiti. After 150 days’ arduous work, Huangjueping Graffiti Street was finally completed. Graffiti Street has not only changed the appearance of the old quarter of Chongqing, but also creates a good environment for the cultural creativity of the institute.
