Chalet Altesse - Premium Apartments

ABOVE & BEYOND We originally booked our stay with Julia who manages that aspect of the business. She was so kind, responsive, and professional. She provided great details prior to our arrival, along with a long list of convenient information to optimize our stay. Upon arrival, we liaised with Nikki who manages the operations on site. Nikki is a super star. She was always available to answer questions, help with any little details, and generally make us feel welcome and taken care of. Both ladies are amazing. As for the Chalet - we stayed on the 2nd floor. 3 bedroom with in-suite bath. Beautifully appointed with a stunning front row view of the Matterhorn. Great taste was put into these homes and you can feel it. Upon arrival, we were so pleasantly surprised that they had stocked the kitchen with plenty of coffee, a bottle of wine, and light snacks. After a 3.5h train ride, it is nice not to have to immediately hit the grocery store. Very thoughtful. These ladies, their lovely home, and their amazing standard of service comes with my highest recommendation.

Visited Zermatt with the family in mid-January and were fortunate to stay in this chalet. It was a last minute booking but both Julia and Nikki were super accommodating. We arrived by train and were provided taxi service upon arrival to the chalet. (Taxi is provided on arrival and departure for direct bookings). The chalet is toward the edge of town but it has a perfect view of the Matterhorn!! The units are very clean, spacious and comfortable. We opted for two bedrooms (2 bedroom and 3 bedroom rental rates are available for each unit). This was perfect for the four of us. Daily delivered croissants and and complimentary snacks upon arrival were a treat after a long journey. Two things to note…. First the chalet is on the edge of town so there is a little longer walk to the city center. The distance isn’t the issue…. It is however on a constant gradual incline. The walk is better after you have acclimated to the altitude. Secondly firmer pillows would be nice. All in all I highly recommend this place!

Another amazing holiday at Altesse. This was our 6th visit, but sadly only for a week this time. As the owner Max said, the "Altesse must feel like a home from home by now" - it does! We stayed in the second floor apartment this time, but have rented the penthouse and first floor previously. This is relatively new chalet (we first visited in 2010) finished and furnished to a very high standard with 3 large bedrooms, a great well-equipped kitchen with steel and wooden work surfaces, a spacious lounge with a large wooden dining table and open fire, and uninterrupted Matterhorn views from each apartment. The balcony has a table and chairs plus 2 reclining sun lounger chairs to relax after a walk or simply to soak up sun and Matterhorn view. There is a wellness area in the basement with a sauna, steam room, shower, relaxation room and toilet. The chalet is in a great location for hikes and is very peaceful. We were very well looked after by the chalet manager, Nikki. She was friendly and attentive, and is very knowledgeable about Zermatt, e.g. restaurant tips, etc. We look forward to our next trip.

We have been guests of Chalet Altesse for the past five winters, and have had fantastic stays each time. Chalet Altesse is in the beautiful Winkelmatten area of Zermatt, our favorite area of the town. Winkelmatten is a quiet part of Zermatt with pristine views of the Matterhorn. The area has wonderful restaurants and a small coffeeshop / marketstore within easy walking distance of the Chalet. The Chalet itself feels brand-new, with all parts of the building and unit itself maintained in mint condition. The top floor of the Chalet, where we have stayed each year, is perfectly set up for a family. There are three bedrooms: one ensuite primary bedroom and two large bedrooms that share a bathroom in the hallway. We have stayed in the Chalet with 5 people, and had more than enough space. The open floorplan of the great room (which includes the living, dining, and kitchen areas) is perfect for family gatherings. We enjoyed many special evenings cooking dinner together while enjoying the unobstructed views of the Matterhorn through the floor to ceiling windows . The fireplace, comfortable living room furniture, and views make for cozy winter evenings. In the winter, the Chalet is perfectly set up for skiers and non-skiers. When there is good snow coverage, the Chalet becomes one of a handful of homes in Zermatt with true ski-in access through the Moos trail. This is a huge benefit after a long day of skiiing, as you avoid the crowded buses at the end of the ski day. A short walk (~5 min) takes you to the Winkelmatten bus stop which quickly takes you to the Klein Matterhorn gondola station in the mornings. The ski room, sauna, and steam rooms, are all high-quality and well-maintained. For non-skiers, the Chalet is situated at the start of many of the best winter hiking, sledding, and trail-running routes in Zermatt. On the gradual slope of the Moos trail, you can take beautiful walks & runs to Furi, Riffelalp, Findeln, and many other trails. Some of the best mountain restaurants/bars are easily accessible for non-skiers directly from the Chalet: Chez Vrony & Findlerhof (~70 minute hike); Zum See (~40 min hike, and our favorite restaurant in Zermatt!); and Hennu Stall (~30 min hike). For our family, which includes skiers and non-skiers, the access to these trails directly from the Chalet was a great benefit. Julia, Nikki, Richard, and the full team at Chalet Altesse, have always been very responsive and made sure that we always had memorable trips. We would highly recommend staying at Chalet Altesse.

Es la primera vez que visitamos Zermatt, pero gracias a Nikki su anfitriona, no será la última, nos hemos sentido como en casa, con unas vistas inigualables y un servicio muy cuidado. Merece la pena ir... Recomendable al 100%.

Emplacement idéal, au calme et proche du centre. Appartement magnifique et très belle vue sur le Cervin. Accueil très professionnel. Petit déjeuner apporté tous les matins. Tout est parfait ! Nous y retournons avec plaisir
