Karras Hotel

I recently stayed at this hotel in Laganas, Zakynthos, for 15 days, and it was an absolute nightmare from start to finish. If you're considering booking this place, save yourself the headache and go somewhere else. Our terrible experience began the moment we arrived. We parked our car in front of the hotel entrance to unload our bags, thinking it was a reasonable spot. Within five minutes, someone from the reception—not the person checking us in—started yelling at us to move the car to the opposite parking lot. Not a great first impression. Upon entering our room, it was clear that it hadn't been vacuumed in years. There were hairs everywhere, dust covering every surface, and the curtains were so dirty that touching them was out of the question. It felt like no one had cleaned the room in a very long time. The breakfast room was the most horrifying place I've ever been in. Hospitals are luxurious in comparison. For 15 days, the same stale food was served, and I seriously doubt they replaced it daily. The waitstaff acted like they were being forced to be there, especially the blonde lady who didn't crack a smile in 15 days. She was always glued to her phone, and when I asked her for something as simple as sugar (which was missing for two days), she snorted and took ten minutes to bring it. Worse still, all the glasses and plates smelled like rotten eggs, making it impossible to enjoy the already unappetizing food. The low point was when we witnessed a waiter kicking a knife across the floor in front of guests—completely unacceptable. Towels were only changed after repeated requests at the reception. Despite staying for 15 days, our sheets were only changed once after we complained. The shower was disgusting, with mold everywhere, and the water smelled so bad that it was unbearable to stand under it for the first ten minutes. The cherry on top was the elderly lady at reception, who didn't even know which island we were on. When we asked her about the nearest beach within walking distance, she told us, "We don't go out at this time, it's too hot, and I don't know the city, so I can't help you." How can a 4-star hotel provide such an awful level of service? I have no idea how this hotel has 4 stars. Even giving it 1 star feels generous. Do yourself a favor—keep your money and find somewhere else to stay. This place is a disaster.

I stayed at this hotel and it was terrible! Food is awful, bed very uncomfortable, the pillows are so hard you get an headache after waking up. Bathroom was dirty and it smelled awful and the shower was leaking. 0/5. Do not recommend. Pool is also very small not like in the picture. It’s obvious they don’t do a lot for the guests, they show no interest.

Avoid this hotel! I have just returned from a short stay in the Karras hotel and came back highly disappointed. It is far from a 4-star hotel. Firstly, upon arrival I entered my room to a horrible sewage smell. There was also a used cotton bud on the desk. Bedding had stains on them and were not changed for the 5 days I stayed there. Food was AWFUL - very limited, no choice, cold, and tasteless. I lived off bread for the most part! The photos on the website are nothing like the reality. AVOID!!!

The hotel does not deserve 4 stars - I don't understand why it was given such a category... The rooms and bathrooms were not terrible, they were quite clean, but there were a few specific "deficiencies" - scratched bed headboards, dirt around the shower, the tap was mounted next to the sink in such a way that washing hands was inconvenient and water was pouring behind the sink... About halfway through the stay, the bathroom flooded from the toilet pipe (which had thick layers of some kind of sealant visible, so similar problems with the pipes had happened before, probably several times...) - it was necessary to change the room. In addition, the food was sometimes barely lukewarm or cold (despite arriving at the canteen just a few minutes after opening... The meals were not very varied, but relatively tasty and fresh (fortunately, we didn't have any stomach problems). The swimming pool is ok, although quite small - a big "but" for me is the lack of sunbeds - after +-11 until the very evening there was no option to relax by the pool - everything was occupied. Location - 300 m to the beach? Nope! Google Maps shows 450 m (this is quite a significant difference in my opinion...). Additionally, you walk along a quite busy promenade, so you have to be very careful. Not a very convenient option... The center of Laganas is also further than the hotel description - 1.5 km instead of 700 m. Why mislead hotel guests? To sum up - the hotel needs a general renovation. There were certainly many better hotels nearby at the same/slightly higher price, where the stay would be more comfortable. I recommend that you carefully consider choosing this hotel and find an alternative.

My wife and I have just returned from 2 excellent weeks at the Karrass Hotel. Our first room was noisy from the music played by the pool and we were changed to a quiet room the next day, The two girls on reception, Georgia and Zoe were very, very helpful and accommodating. The food was good, we thoroughly enjoyed it (it's not the Ritz but we weren't paying Ritz prices) We had no complaints whatsoever with any meals we had. There isn't much choice with the cocktails but we enjoyed what we had. We would definitely come back we had such a good time here,

There is nothing good to say about this place ! The photos on the website are nothing like the reality of what you get! Do not book ! The bathrooms are disgusting and the breakfast and staff is nothing short of awful
