Hotel St John Villas

The Villa was described by Jet2 holidays as a Luxurious 5 star accommodation. The first thing to say is the accommodation is definitely NOT either luxurious or 5 star. The Villa was very tired and in desperate need of remedial work. This included the decking around the pool which quite frankly needed replacing. When we arrived the grass around the pool was at least a foot high and it took over a week for this to be cut. There was an outside shower to use before going into the pool, unfortunately it was situated so that the water run straight onto the air conditioning units. The bathroom had mould around the bath and each time we showered the show head fell off. When air conditioning was turned on in one of the bedrooms a ver pungent strong smell of cat urine was obvious. These were just some of the issues we faced. In conclusion, St Johns Villa are not either luxurious or 5 star. A better expectation would be to think of them as basic and 1 star. Unfortunately, the price paid did reflect the former not the latter. The Villa is in desperate need of refurbishment and investment.

These villas were described at the time of our booking as 5 star and luxurious throughout but were far from that in our experience! The following is an extract from the complaint we sent to Jet2 holidays: "The area surrounding the swimming pool had rotting decking with grass growing through it, and this was surrounded by overgrown grass and ****s. The outdoor shower was unusable as this had major health & safety issues being sited over the external air conditioning units. The living and dining areas were far from elegantly furnished, were very tired, and extremely cramped for four adults so goodness knows how 6 adults would have coped with this. The kitchen was very poorly equipped, with insufficient equipment, ill-matching glasses and crockery and, again was the whole areas was tired and years passed it best. One of our major gripes was that our villa (Villa backed onto the restaurant and we therefore had to suffer to noise and smells coming from the kitchen’s extractor fan throughout the day. In addition, the area surrounding the villa was not private (people moving to and from the restaurant and reception had open access to our ‘private’ villa surroundings" We were offered £350 compensation by Jet2 (which in no way compensated for how the accommodation spoiled our holiday) but what was even more disappointing was that there has not been any real acknowledgment from Jet2 that the Villas were substandard, and for that reason we would never book accommodations with them ever again as we wouldn't trust their description and rating! There are some some suites on site, which I understand are considerably newer than the villas, and maybe these attract more favourable comments but our experience of the villa were we first shown to, and the one we subsequently stayed in, were pretty similar to that of 'Restlesstraveller - also Sep 2023' Don't waste your money!

We’ve been staying in one of the suites. The room it is amazing, very clean with a nice view. The swimming pool is heated. On the terrace the privacy it is completed. Very nice breakfast and the staff it is amazing, especially Monica and Spiros. They are looking properly after your needs. The staff booked us a private boat and a private car to have a nice trip. The general manager,Narkis it is a lovely person, she is paying a lot of attention about the entire environment. Starting from check in and end it on checkout everything it was perfect. In one word I can describe our stay as AMAZING, definitely we will come back here, it becomes a favorite place for us.

We stayed in the Suites for a few days and throughly enjoyed it. The staff was super nice, everyone from Abdulle, the cart driver to the ladies at the restaurant. The Suite was spacious and beautiful!! We REALLY appreciated that the pool was heated, as we went during the off season and it would have been to cold to use it if it were not heated!!!! You definitely need a car if you are going to stay here as the hotel sits on a hill and while walking down might be ok, walking up at night would not be fun. We had a car so it was not a problem, but I would suggest others have one in advance.

Lovely secure villa in the heart of Tsilivi . Staff were so friendly and helpful nothing was too much trouble. Villa was spotless and cleaned daily. Staff were always on hand for help and advice. I would highly recommend but if your elderly or disabled the bank upto the villas are abit steep.

Stayed in a villa which was clean and spacious. Great location on the side of a hill. Food was amazing - both breakfasts and evening meals, Staff were really friendly and helpful.

We have just returned from a fabulous three week holiday in a two bedroom villa with the most stunning panoramic view of Tsilivi town centre and the ocean beyond. The villas are traditionally Greek in style, two en suite bathrooms, a downstairs shower room with toilet and a terrace leading from each bedroom with the same stunning view. Well equipped kitchen and air conditioning in every room (once we worked out how to use the remote control)! The staff are amazing, they work so hard and nothing is too much trouble. A special shout out to Narcis, she was amazing before we arrived with queries etc and arranged a hire car for us which was delivered to our villa and collected at the end of our holiday. We also want to mention our daily housekeeper Anita. She kept our villa spotless, she was very friendly and always smiling. All the staff were fabulous, the restaurant served amazing food and the steep hill was challenging but manageable after a few cocktails 😀

Firstly let me say that the staff at St John are excellent and this review is no reflection on them whatsoever. The accommodation, and in this case I mean the villas, is an altogether different story. THIS IS NOT A 5 STAR OFFERING SO SAVE YOUR MONEY. Not sure where to start but let me just say that after being shown to our villa, a dark, dingy offering we were shown four other villas of a similar standard before having to settle for the best of a bad bunch. Perhaps the remaining villas on site are of a much higher standard but judging by the way the entire resort is maintained and those villas which we were shown I very much doubt it. Described as ‘5 ⭐️’ these villas are probably more like 2⭐️, maybe 3 ⭐️ at best. Whilst the main resort building which houses the reception, restaurant and gym ‘technically’ enable them to claim a 5 ⭐️ star rating in Greece…..the bar to reach 5 ⭐️ in Greece is clearly set much, much lower than elsewhere in the Mediterranean or indeed other parts of the world. Broken kitchen units; loose electrical sockets; bare ceiling wires, broken bathroom fittings including a cracked jacuzzi bath, broken sun bed, manky parasol; BBQ grills you wouldn’t dream of using stored on the floor of an outside utility room …. the list of issues is almost endless. We have never been so disappointed in accommodation we have booked. A more blatant example of mis-selling I’ve never seen. To finish on the one positive - the on site restaurant offers a credible alternative to those in town down the hill. Prices are broadly comparable albeit drinks are slightly more expensive but maybe just edge it on quality so very little in it overall.

We stayed for a week in Iris Villa. There was everything you needed. The washing machine didn’t work ( we had a two year old with us), but after a phone call to reception it was sorted out, the same with the iron. I guess not many people used them so the staff weren’t to know. The rooms were cleaned every day and the beds were really comfy. The weather wasn’t kind to us but it was nice to have somewhere to sit inside. The villas are on quite a steep hill, but you can walk downhill to the main bit and get a taxi back. The food in Noya was lovely however the drinks were quite expensive (8 euros for a small glass of wine). We were a little shocked to be charged 70 euros for a travel cot, but we needed it as the steps were quite steep and didn’t want to run the risk of a toddler falling down the stairs in the middle of the night. Having said all this we had a fabulous time, the guys with the buggies are brilliant as are all the staff. I would definitely recommend these villas and wouldn’t hesitate to book again for a family holiday.
