We had stayed in this hotel five years ago and did so again this June. Again we had a fabulous stay; very welcoming staff. This time on the night of our arrival we opted to dine in and enjoyed a truly fabulous repast of fried lake perch with butter-lemon sauce. The restaurant and hotel are on the very edge of Lac Leman, giving views to the Swiss side. This time we opted for a standard room to save money; that was a bad move; the lakeside rooms are truly worth the extra money. The Jardin des Sens is a must visit while inn Yvoire; it is also worth taking a walk to La Chataignerie. We were disappointed to find, however, that Yvoire has become much more touristic, with tour buses bringing mass visitors to this medieval city and as a result many shops now cater to tourist needs for souvenirs and craft goods.
