Checked in ok. We have stayed here many times over 20+yrs and have noticed an overall, sad decline. This visit, we've been charged to park, £7. The menu was limited to burgers, a few pasta and an Indian dish. I asked if I could pay a surcharge for a mixed grill, but was informed there was nothing else other than the restricted menu? No steak, no gammon, no pie, no fish n chips just the restricted menu? If an establishment is having problems there are always alternatives to what is happening here, by either pre warning guests or supplementary charges to cover costs. I will not come back, unless a suitable explanation is received. Not bothered about discount or freebies, as that's a shallow corporate "win" or as I'm beginning to think a franchise. Trying to end on a positive... The "limited" menu food, was ok, hot, and very quick service. Staff were very good also. However, a simple caveat for prospective customers informing them that you are having kitchen staffing issues would have explained a whole lot more than an A4 menu of fryable options. We'd have eaten at Murgatroyds or one of the pubs within walking distance. Fantastic place going....or gone, to the dogs.

To be clear, premier inn in what it is and we’ve stayed here a few times, the staff at reception are great. The beefeater next door, what a joke, it’s our 2nd time in here as we are staying at the hotel, (you cannot review separately?) The staff cannot be bothered, complaining about working, moaning how many hours they have, fridges not stocked so products warm! No bar setup. Takes ages to get served as no one seems to even be able to work the till! No manners, no atmosphere, no one cares. Our first visit I actually had a jump up 20 year going mental at me as no one was serving but parry noises coming out of kitchen, so input my head in and asked if anyone was serving just to be shouted at! Premier couldn’t do anything and gave me details to complain but no response so I am writing here. The place is a joke, staff are clueless and cannot be bothered. Just because it’s near the hotel there’s plenty places to grab a bite in the area. I can’t believe they somehow have managed to be off tripadviser so no one can actually give them reviews. Avoid at all costs

Comfy and quiet room. Parking charges are a niggle and an inconvenience. Restaurant options quite pricey, there are better options within a mile or so. While there wasn’t anything wrong with the stay, the rooms are looking a bit tired these days, feels the whole place needs a freshen up. But it is convenient to the airport and does the job for an overnight before jetting off.

Our overall experience at this hotel was one of disappointment. The room and bathroom (especially) is tired and desperately in need of a refurbishment. The bathroom had lots of mould on the ceiling, with peeling paint across the ceiling and on some walls. The bath shower was dirty, and in need of a deep clean. It definitely fell below the standards we have come to expect from Premier Inn's across the UK. When ordering food at the attached restaurant the experience didn't improve. It was 40 minutes after ordering i went up to enquire if there was a reason for the delay to which i was informed that the kitchen wasn't aware of the order as the ticket hadn't been put through to them. The hotel is conveniently placed very close to the airport which was the reason for our stay. By the time we had arrived and properly settled it was 9pm in the evening, and we were out by 3am, so the issues we had were hardly worth complaining about at the time...not that we could when checking out as there was nobody at the desk. It's unlikely we will be back to this Premier Inn. If you choose to visit, don't expect it to be a great experience...however if you are looking to stay somewhere close to the airport then you won't find somewhere closer.

What makes this hotel stand out is Andrew (Andy Pandy) on reception. I thought I'd booked a room - I hadn't! It was late in the evening and I was exhausted. Plus, my phone was dead. Andrew went out of his way to book me out a room at a decent rate, charge my phone (so I could pay), and sorted out my car parking. He is worth his weight in gold!!!!
