I was concerned, having not eaten at The Dorset Arms for a while, that the standard might have slipped, especially after seeing some negative reviews. However I needn’t have worried. The staff were welcoming and attentive. The food was excellent and reasonably priced and for us a big plus was it is dog friendly too! Judging by his busy is was, plenty of customers were like minded. It’s a characterful pub and well worth a visit.

Very basic accommodation. Quite small room and there was no shower in the bathroom, The TV only worked on two channels. Don't be misled by 'deluxe' room description and price. Nice location with good views but needs an upgrade to justify the price tag.

Stayed in room above pub. Room was ok, nice bedding, towels etc.
The communal bathroom could do with some improvement. A shower extension in the bath that you have to hold which is a trickle of water and nothing if you stand up - making it impossible to wash your hair . Skirting and flooring not the cleanest in rest of bathroom too.
Good breakfast included which isn’t mentioned on the description

Beautiful location for a very peaceful stay. Stunning room which was very-well thought-out and spotlessly clean. Very friendly and attentive staff. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. For breakfast I can recommend the porridge with warm maple syrup!

Cottage with a family friendly appeal. Family owned and
warm staff. Close proximity to the Pooh village and Pooh bridge.
The swimmer that beat the world’s most decorated swimmer Michael Phelps is on the staff. So this property has character. American Express Cards are don’t work here, so carry Visa or Masrtercard and Cash

We stayed over for one night last week in one of the rooms in the Old School House. Super comfortable room on the ground floor, which was ideal for our spaniel. Excellent meal in the evening, also great breakfast as well. We found all the staff to be so polite and efficient.We will definitely return again later this year.

Wonderful staff, friendly and welcoming and always ready and happy to help in any way they could. Lovely room in the Old School House with beautiful views across the meadow to the cricket pitch. Idyllic place to stay

Nothing was too much trouble and the food - both evening meal and breakfast - was fantastic.
