Pamularsih Homestay

For the life of me, I can not figure out why travelers would give top marks to this place. The house itself is nice and clean, but the rooms are very basic, the shower is on the toilet and there is no sink in the the bathroom - if you want one you have to go to the garden. No hot water (of course) and the floor of the bathroom is slippery and dangerous. Since you need to use the shower and wet the toilet seat, you must keep the toilet paper out of the bathroom. I would understand if it was a guest house or a hostel in the country and prices would be accordingly, but this is in Yogyakarta and the prices charged are that of a 3 star hotel (they do not clean your room, by the way). We were really astound to see what those people are asking for that room - value for money is preposterous. Moreover, they would charge the full amount before you even arrive to the place - such greedy people. There is nothing of interest in the area, no restaurants and no coffee shops, which means you have to take a taxi everywhere. All in all - you can get for that amount of money a much much better place in Jogja. Stay away from these detached people.
