Langdale Chase Hotel

We came back to The Lake District for a special Anniversary and while not at all our usual stay (we normally stay in holiday cottages) as it was a special occasion decided to look for some unique accommodations. We stayed in The Boathouse and I cannot begin to describe how wonderful it was. The quality of the refurbishment to this is top notch you can see where the money has been spent. That William Holland copper hot tub/jacuzzi on the top deck is worth the price of a night on its own. Sitting in that at sun set and then at sun rise looking out over the lake is wonderful. Getting in it after a cool dip in the lake from the private jetty is a must do (according to hubby!) (I read a previous review about the Boat House being too small and the TV blocking the view, I can only say ...it's a Boat House..... and also why have you got the TV up with a view like that!?) We ate in the restaurant, the food was fantastic. This is an expensive experience but worth every penny. All the staff we encountered were extremely friendly, efficient, we turned up in our walking attire after a week of walks and did not feel like we shouldn't be there as one might think with such a grand hotel as this, they even seemed to like being there which is always a plus! We will definitely be back!!
