Front desk staff very helpful, room was clean and tidy, bed was good and fast check in and check out.

Can I first say the staff at this Travelodge are first rate. Jane who works on reception can't do enough to make your stay perfect and the cleaners do such a good job making the rooms spotless. The location is fantastic, it's a stone throw from McDonald's and Toby carvery for breakfast or dinner, both in walking distance. The car park is a good size and could always get a parking space. It's only 30 mins away from Liverpool one or Cheshire oaks. Thoroughly recommend!.

Good value for money, central location with parking, close to shops, restaurants and main roads. Large clean room with comfy bed.

Room was clean, with a comfy bed. Hotel could do with an update, looks dated. Slept pretty decent, and all the staff I met were nice. Was checked in by Pete, friendly guy, pointed me to a place to get a proper breakfast. Would stay here again if in the area.

I don’t usually leave reviews but I feel I need to for this “Hotel”. I have never met a more rude and abrupt person than the lady that checked me in. This is my second stay at Widnes, first being in January 2025. This time round I was given room 15 next to reception. On check in the rude lady that I later found out is actually the manager of the hotel, was clearly having a bad day so I gave her the benefit of doubt. That being said it’s no excuse to be so rude to paying customers. I stay in many Travelodge hotels but the toxic environment at Widnes clearly shows, and after clearly hearing threw my bedroom window into the staff area next door, the way she was speaking about certain staff members on a personal and bullying scale, Staff members I have actually met myself, I can see why the staff feel deflated. Magda you should feel ashamed of yourself. Belittling your staff and openly discussing personal matters of staff members and laughing about it. I have met the staff in question several times over my stay and it is clear there this hotel has a major issue, YOU. I will be contacting the people highest up the chain to give a statement on my findings for the sake of the lovely staff you clearly don’t care about. As for the state of the place. The floors outside my room were caving in under my feet. Staff advised it had been reported so many times be nobody high up actually cared. How this place passes a heath & safety inspection is beyond me. Travelodge bosses, I will not let this be disregarded. The company needs to be investigated from a H&S prospective.

Basic hotel in need of a refurb. The room was clean, the bed comfortable and I slept ok. However the whole place felt tired and the room was about as basic as you can get. A single power outlet by the desk for the kettle and anything else you may need to plug in is a bit disappointing in 2025. Receptionist barely looked at me when I checked in and certainly didn’t crack a smile. It served its purpose and was easily accessible but isn’t the best Travelogue example & at £80 for a night felt a bit overpriced.
