I booked a week at this hotel, close to Canterbury. Holiday Inn is a chain and so you know what to expect. This hotel stood out from other Holiday Inn's, in my opinion, because of the staff. They were all excellent. Professional. Friendly. Breakfast could get busy and yet the staff seemed to be always in control. Tables were kept clear and clean, all breakfast items were well stocked. It all ran so efficiently and nothing runs that efficiently without a lot of hard work. The Reception staff always made time to greet guests and ask about plans for the day etc. The room was standard, but the stay was so good purely due to the staff. Canterbury is only 3 miles away but taxi fares were pricey. On the Sunday it costs £20 to Canterbury and £25 back to the hotel. I suspect most people will drive as there is a large car park and this is pretty much a Services hotel. I hadn't given the location much thought when I booked. However, we were next to the A2 and it was easy to drive to different places. All in all, what would have been a standard stay not even worthy of a review, was elevated because of the staff.

You will be hard pressed to find a cleaner hotel nor more friendly and caring staff. Rooms are perfectly adequate for a short break, with comfortable beds and pillows. Considering it’s just off a very busy dual carriageway neither of us noticed noise from traffic. Food is reasonably priced for 2024 and very tasty ; well presented. It is quite a way from the city centre, but we drove here from Cardiff so a few miles into town doesn’t hurt. AND, you know where it is when you book! So don’t complain when you get there.

Yes staff are friendly and breakfast ok but given a accessible room on ground floor, strange but this meant it was the furthest room from reception, and room same size with a smaller bed, if offered take a normal room on ground floor. I know I’m not the smallest but it isn’t a double. If visiting aim for the garage not the main sign and charging £3 to park in the middle of nowhere is just a liberty, Electric charging point not working. Would I stay again probably not. Staff are good

Located next to the motorway, it wasn't convenient for walking to Canterbury, but it had a large parking lot (three pounds per night extra, managed by third party so be sure to register at checkin). The hotel itself was nice - clean, large, comfortable modern, rooms, the staff very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fantastic with all of the cooked options, cereals and breads, yogurts, etc. Overall - meets the standard of Holiday Inn Express !

We have just returned from a lovely couple of days here. The friendly welcome was a great start and all the staff we met were welcoming and friendly. We thought the evening meals were exceptional for this type of hotel and the included breakfast was very good too. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and it was a good base for our trips to Dover Castle and Canterbury Cathedral. If we need accommodation in this area we will certainly return. Well done to the managers and the whole team.

I brought my elderly mum for a weekend visiting Whistable and Canterbury - the hotel staff are lovely - they changed our room so it was more accessible. The food is really good and the customer service is excellent . They're really adaptable for families with young children and elderly people.

This hotel is one of the best hotels we've ever stayed in. I'm a housekeeper and I've stayed in many places around the world. This hotel is very clean and the rooms and beds are extremely comfy. The staff here make the place. They are all friendly, chatty and helpful. They remember who you are and they feel like family. We stayed 2 nights for an army funeral at Canterbury cathedral and everything was fantastic. The breakfast was really good and hot. All the containers were refilled constantly. The coffee was delicious. We ate here on 1 evening and the food was exceptional. It was hot and of a reasonable price too. You have to pay £3 a day to park but we didn't find that expensive. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone and if we are ever back in Canterbury I'd 100% come back.

The staff of this hotel is just the best, so helpful, caring and friendly. Nothing ever seemed too much bother and they constantly offered help and assistance and remembered our circumstances. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well. The traffic on the busy road outside was hardly noticeable and didn’t bother us at all. We could have done with a little bit more storage space as we were there for 8 nights but if a room is booked for transit to and from Europe (as most people surely do) it probably doesn’t matter. Breakfast was very good, all food containers were constantly refilled with freshly cooked or prepared items. Coffee was excellent, as was the orange juice which often I don’t drink in hotels when I find it’s only sugar water. We had dinner there twice and the food was excellent.
