We chose the Mansion for our family group’s three-night stay, based on recommendations from local friends, and it did not disappoint. We occupied several ground-floor rooms and were immediately impressed. The rooms were immaculately maintained, spotlessly clean, and tastefully decorated, featuring comfortable beds, excellent en suite facilities, high-speed internet, and televisions with a good selection of channels. Tea and coffee-making facilities, along with spectacular views, enhanced our stay. The Mansion also has an honour bar upstairs and a fridge for residents, which is a thoughtful touch. The breakfast was spectacular – freshly cooked to order with a variety of options. The full English was particularly amazing, and the vegetarian choices were equally impressive. Unlimited tea, coffee, and juices made for the perfect start to each day. Having dined in Whitehaven for many years, I can honestly say it’s one of the best breakfasts I’ve had in town. The welcome and hospitality were exceptional. Ian and Nav are the perfect hosts – genuinely warm and friendly, striking the right balance to make the Mansion feel like a home away from home. Our entire group was unanimously impressed, and we will happily recommend the Mansion and look forward to returning on future visits to the area.

The hosts are lovely, the room was clean and well presented with a beautiful view. They have booklets in the room that tells you about area and whats available which is great. The breakfast was freshly prepared with a good range to offer. Will book again. Thank you for a lovely stay

I have stayed at the Mansion on 2 previous occasions when visiting family in West Cumbria. This time it was for a wedding and I was with 2 relatives from Canada. We arrived late as had to do airport pick ups but there was no issue with this as we had good communication beforehand. I stayed in my "usual" room a deluxe double and family were in more modern room on ground floor. They were very pleased with their room and were very very happy with the breakfasts which are cooked from fresh with local products. As always we were made to feel very welcome by Nav and the standard of the accommodation is very good value for the price especially as breakfast and car parking is included One comment from family : hooks on downstairs bathroom door would be very welcome.

August 2024 Quiet, cozy, and beautiful. The owners, Ian and Nav, are extremely friendly and care about your comfort needs. The view from the garden courtyard is beautiful and extremely relaxing. Minutes from beautiful downtown Whitehaven. We were very happy and pleased with our 5 day stay. The room was very comfortable and had a beautiful view of the gorgeous garden. Ian is an excellent cook and cooks breakfast according to your needs. The English breakfast is excellent. Nav has the green thumb, and his plants throughout the Mansion are beautiful. They are the best, most accommodating host of this historical mansion.

We arrived in the early evening for the first night of our C2C bike ride. We cycled from the train station in very heavy rain so were soaked upon arrival. We were immediately helped with secure storage for our bikes and a very helpful offer to provide drying space for our wet shoes and clothes. We enjoyed a swim in the pool, followed by hot showers before relaxing and playing cards in the lounge area at the very well stocked and reasonably priced honesty bar. Breakfast was very efficiently served in a room where we chatted to other guests. We found the mansion house to be very clean. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. We enjoyed our one night stay here. Thank you! 🤩

Just got back from The Mansion what a lovely place to stay the owners are very helpful friendly and make you feel so welcome. The rooms and all the other areas of the building are very well kept very clean comfortable and peaceful had a lovely couple of nights sleep bed very comfortable beautiful sea views through the window of our room and lovely garden area to sit and relax .added bonus was the swimming pool and sauna just the two of us had it to ourselves . breakfast was everything you could ask for help yourself to cereal toast yogurts pastries juice and then hot breakfast made fresh from the owners with table service and plenty of fresh hot tea and coffee .and a honesty bar with drinks and snacks .both the owners should be proud of themselves they really take pride in there business and work very hard and are always available if you need them .they also take time to sit and have a chat with you and offer good advice on things to do in the area during your stay we will definitely stay here again thanks for the lovely stay .suzannah & dave x

Great location, lovely views. Accommodation was fantastic, very clean spacious rooms, very comfortable beds, hosts were very welcoming, and breakfast was delicious. Kids loved the pool. Would definitely recommend & hope to visit again.

What a great find this lovely B&B is. Nav & Ian can’t do enough for you. We had room 3 which is a deluxe room with amazing views over towards Whitehaven marina and onto Scotland. We had a sofa in our big room which was a nice extra and of course, a kettle for a much deserved brew. Comfy bed and clean room. Breakfast was cooked using good ingredients, plenty of choice and always served with a smile. Plenty of parking. The pub a few doors down has closed down, but there is a lovely bar for residents. WiFi is very strong. There is a lovely secluded garden out back full of plants and flowers to relax in, which we did. They have an indoor pool which we didn’t get time to use, but will make sure we do next time. Thankyou Nav & Ian for making our little break a nice relaxing one.

Proper comfy bed with everything you could need in one room, staff so helpful and pleasant. Breakfast is whatever you fancy and cooked perfectly can not fault it. I booked again for work the following week as I enjoyed the stay so much and that says a lot when I normally stay in my truck.
