Don't be put off by the look of the motel from the street. It is/was alarming; looks down at heel at the least. The motel units, though, are down the back. Ours was spacious and well appointed. Warm, very clean. Good shower (didn't try the spa bath); very comfortable bed. Lovely walk along the river roadway.

We thought this was very good value. An older place, but clean and pretty well-appointed. It was quiet. Nice walk along the river right across the street, and town is not very far way. Friendly staff. This is a good place to stay and we might be back when we do Wanganui again.

Very close to the centre of whanganui. Beautiful views of old man river. Friendly staff that enjoyed a decent chat, helped with laundry issues and allowed me to store my bike in the room. Plenty of room and very reasonably priced. Great place to end the mountain to sea cycle tour

We were reasonably happy with our one night at the Riverview. Quite a spacious unit with separate bedroom, kitchenette and bathroom. All was clean and comfortable: the bedroom a good size in its own right with a comfortable bed, the kitchenette was well appointed and the bathroom also fine. Our only issue was with wifi reception. It was non-existent in the bedroom, a bit patchy in the kitchen and easily the best in the bathroom, which was the room closest the front of the unit. Very frustrating. (We were in room 4.) -

We were in an upstairs unit which was horrible. Stairs up to the unit were old and carpet smelt musty. Unit is very old and very tired. Smelt musty. Did not like to walk on the carpet without shoes. Very old couch in the lounge which was falling to bits underneath and well worn cover. Bed was reasonably comfortable. Average cleanliness. Small things could have helped eg. Dishcloth had bad stains on it, miss matched cups and glasses. Basically very old and tired. Overpriced!!!! Would not go back

A clean and tidy one bedroom (room 7). Found the bed a little soft and the room and decor generally dated, but good value for the price. Reception was extremely helpful and pleasant with check in/out and informative and helpful on things to do. I think we were in an older unit but happy and would stay again.

I headed to Riverview Motel for the second year in a row. Steve was great at reception. The rooms are basic but clean and tidy....just a little tired...no big deal. Affordable and in a great location overlooking the river. Thanks.

Very very tired my room (4 ) needed an update and deep clean. Very strong smell of damp. The bedcover had some very suspect stains on it and was in dire need of a good wash.. thankfully only stayed one night.

Booked into this wonderfully located Motel - very clean and tidy. Great check-in help and advice. Central to walk to most of town. Good price, excellent in room spa. We will be back with the family next year - 4/5
