Hotel Prince Regent

This was a highly disappointing place to visit and stay. We arrived to a very dated and tired establishment and in good time. We were advised of our room and that it had been cleaned/ready for us (402). We made our way to the room to find it tired, full of mould and having been not cleaned to a fit enough standard for human habitation, and there was not a uselable shower in the oddly shaped bathroom and where the shower head was fitted nobody over 3 foot tall would have been able to stand and take a shower, so returned to reception to kindly make our discord felt, but met with an initial lie of 'this is the only room we have!', which was highly incorrect as the hotel was at no more than 50% occupied. We were informed that the room had been cleaned, so upon the again politely presentation of the attached photos we have give to this review, I was shouted at and informed that I was rude to be presenting these to the person (a person who was later identified as being the duty manager, and clearly in the wrong trade, if she beleives shouting at a guest is the way to deal with a valid complaining guest. Further training would be need for this person, if she was a duty manager, as calm is not in her remit at present). After a very long drawn out huffing and puffing by the duty manager, we were presented a second room in the neighbouring hotel and in the basement next to the games room/main entertainment area. This room was also next to the main road and noisy from the traffic. The experience falls very short of what should be expected for gueat to walk into. We feel everyone should know how poor this establishment is for those booking rooms and hope they get this correct before the local enviromental health team come to do an inspection of all the rooms.. It was highly disappointing and even to the point of being scolded like a child by a peraon who was meant to be managing staff and customer expectations, when presenting evidence of how poor their rooms were, was totally unacceptable. It would be good to discuss this visit with the owners also, as there was so many issues you should be made aware of.

Good hotel with nice large room, very clean with large comfortable bed and comfortable pillows. Room a little dated but the hotel were refurbishing some rooms on our floor. Lift was out of order but we were only on the first floor so that was fine. Very nice food and always hot. Staff were friendly and efficient. Very conveniently situated on the seafront with a bus stop outside too. Good entertainment in the evenings. All in all a great stay

This hotel Will not last much longer how quick it as gone down bank management more concerning about child care workers served first before paying guests howisit 50 pounds more then the Russel hotel they no how to look after you Room service good this hotel needs sorting out from the top then maybe back to normal daishs standard

The reception and bar staff are brilliant..the housekeeping staff leave a lot to be desired. The restaurant staff have no idea of how to do things like clearing tables and carrying plates of food. Breakfast one day was a hit n miss affair, we sat down at 8.30am had a our cereals and had to wait till 9.30 for our cooked breakfast then we had to hurry as we were going put that morning..terrible service they are short staffed so why not get extra staff in or ones that know how to work in a busy dining room with 2 /3 coach loads to cater for. One member of our group had her bags rifled with a nd one bag cut open in her room whilst we were out on a trip....NOT Great . On the plus side, the hotel is well situated and the weather was fantastic , although very windy, very good for Mid March

Very good hotel, good basic food, clean beds and rooms, good entertainment, right on the sea front , 6 steps at the front ,if your disabled there is a disability entrance also in the hotel next door that you can use. Lifts work well, good dining areas nice friendly staff who all seem to be working doing different jobs now and again. Overall score 10/10.

Hotel is being decorated so lots of noise during the day. Food was small portions not always hot they ran out of butter one morning however accommodating on breakfast if you wanted another choice. Found the staff ok and helpful The bed room was sea view but very drafty windows. It needed a comfy chair to sit in. The lounge area was at the back of the hotel so no nice seating area on the front of the hotel.
