Camp Figtree by the Oyster Collection

Trip of a lifetime but I’ll be back! For the lodge the best part of any hotel/lodge is the room and bed! The most important element of a hotel/lodge is a comfortable bed. Some beds have scratchy sheets but you do not. I remember just sinking into the bed and immediately falling asleep. It was like sleeping on a cloud and then we woke up to the most beautiful scenery from out deck looking out at the bush. The second element about the lodge was the food. I must admit, I was always so full from dinner that I never ate desert. The dinner far exceeded any expectations that I had. I had beef one evening and pork the other. It was never possible to finish either meal. For the excursions that the lodge arranged, we did several excursions. (Addo Elephant Park, Walk with the elephants at Barefoot Addo Elephant Lodge, Schotia Tooth & Claw Safari, Bellevue Forest Reserve giraffe tracking safari) All of these excursions were more than we could have ever expected. I did not expect to see much since it was full summer and I read that it is the time of the year with the least activity but this is not true. They were all wonderful but I have always loved elephants so the Figtree Addo Elephant Part was overwhelming. I would love to come back and spent the entire day there watching the elephants. I don’t think that it would ever get tiring! It was just speculator. The Schotia Tooth & Claw night game drive was over six hours but the time flew by quickly. Too quickly. I must admit, I was a little scared at times and I think we were a bit too close to the lion and rhino. I just needed to trust our guide and the people in our vehicle.

A good friend and client recommended we stay at Camp Figtree as the perfect place to create some lifetime memories, he was so right, everything was spot on, wonderful game drives (we did 2 and the second one was especially good when it was warmer as more game was visible), the food, the service, the view, I could go on and on, it was all exceptional and we will return

Wonderful stay at Camp Figtree. The rooms are beautiful and the views are superb. Dinner and drinks were great but what sets it above and beyond are the staff. Simba was one of the most interesting and helpful individuals I have met for a long time and Sia was an incredibly knowledgeable safari guide. Highly recommend and can’t wait to go back

Great experience - breakaway from the rat race to just sit relax and reset. Staff made it amazing and took great care of us. If you are a fooddie this is the place to be

We stayed for two nights at Camp Figtree. The whole package was excellent. Although it is difficult to find an alternative restaurant within easy reach, the restaurant was so good why do you need an alternative. The drive to the site did involve about 12 kms along a gravel road, but it was not a busy road and OK if you take your time.
