This is a mid/high rise Marriott located at the foot of the hills in downtown Morgantown. If you are familiar with the Marriott brand, it follows the blueprint of some of the more recent renovations for their full service properties--carpet is out, hardwood floors are in. Personally, I like that approach. The rooms on each end of the main corridor appear to be larger than the rest; we had one of those and it was quite spacious. It was well equipped with some seating areas and a desk. If you are looking for lots of freebies like breakfast, don't stay in a full service hotel. There are plenty of mid-tier and budget hotels in Morgantown. This is a nicer property with higher quality materials, and if you want food, you're paying for it; just like every other full service Marriott, Hilton, etc. There is an adjacent parking garage; be warned it is a bit of a haul through the convention center corridor to get to it. (By the way, the convention center isn't renovated, and you can tell what the decor must have been for this Marriott not long ago too). The WVU Downtown Visitor's Center is across the courtyard, and some of the downtown campus buildings are nearby. I didn't try the restaurant, but there is a "real" full service Starbucks in the lobby that we did use. Overall this is a nice property. For my night, the cost was a bit higher than some of the other options, but it was still a fair price for the quality of the hotel.
