The vintage Swiss hotel was so perfect! I booked a one bedroom room and my mom and aunt had their own separate room. I stayed at room 43 which had the most beautiful views of Swiss Alps. The hotel is family owned and very kind and hospitable. Breakfast was the best I’ve ever had in a hotel which served local cheese, yogurt, meat spread, breads, as well as many variety. I would highly recommend this hotel!

Excellent hotel with amazing views and amazing rooms! The staff here were so wonderful and so accommodating! We would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone! We stayed here as a last minute thing but it was wonderful! And we just wish we had found this place earlier.

My husband and I have just returned home after a truly wonderful week in beautiful Wengen. We celebrated our twenty fifth wedding anniversary there as it’s where we spent our honeymoon. Wengen is a very special place and staying at the hotel Alpenruhe added to our joy of being in Wengen again. Andreas and all of the staff are so friendly and welcoming and you feel very much at home and relaxed there. Nothing is too much trouble. We appreciated lifts to and from the station with our heavy luggage on arrival and check out. The location of the hotel as other reviews have mentioned is out of the town away from the station and tourist hustle and bustle but only a short walk into Wengen along a pleasant route. I would highly recommend a mountain balcony view which is breathtaking and absolutely stunning, hard to take your eyes off it! The hotel is very comfortable and absolutely immaculate. The breakfast is relaxed and a very healthy selection of breads and cheeses and homemade jams, croissants and fruit and eggs which my husband and I enjoyed. We also very much enjoyed the lovely garden and ate our lunch from the Coop there a few times. We especially enjoyed the honesty bar and selection of local wines which were very good. It was a truly wonderful week in Wengen and I shed a tear when it was time to leave. We hope to return again one day to this beautiful place and thank all of the staff at hotel Alpenruhe with heartfelt gratitude for making our stay so very special.

This is our second day at Hotel Alpenruhe. Wow is all I can say. Exceptional in every way. They will pick you up from the train station typically. The views are amazing. The staff is amazing. The rooms, while simple, are amazing! Really and truly one of the best hotel experiences all around.

I love this place and can’t recommend it enough. This is the second time I stayed— once last summer for 3 days and then for over a week now, in June 2024 (solo both times). I needed a bit of a break from life and unplug, and the kindness and hospitality of the staff made my stay feel like a home away from home. If you feel hesitant about booking due to lack of amenities like fridge or microwave in rooms, I can assure you it’s not an issue nor burden. Again, I stayed here for 8 days and was perfectly fine and able without either! I didn’t even need them. I also left very early before breakfast (crack of dawn) and the staff was so kind to pack me a breakfast and even some sandwiches. I hadn’t even asked! The home away from home feeling here is unmatched.
