I was going to a wedding and had to turn up early before checking. They kindly offered us a room to change and bag holding. We did not get in until past 1 am btu the night porter was breifed and really helpful. Parkign out back was safe and easy. Our room was nice and new but our freinds room could haev done with a update.

Owais was the best. Not only did he accommodate me and my frail mum. He went above and beyond understanding my mum struggled to walk up the stairs and managed to get us a ground floor room. Can't thank him enough for his help. We had a good night sleep as well.

Great room, great food,great staff,great service, many thanks. We stayed in the John Gielgud suite and had dinner and breakfast,all fab thanks. Love the bohemian rustic vibe of the rooms and will return,again. Loved the nice little garden area to sit in through our patio doors.

Nice hotel if a bit dated. Good parking. Which is chargeable. Attended a function and service and food excellent. Breakfast food was good. But bit disorganised Rooms are a bit dated and door locks very fiddly due to their age all in all not a bad experience

Do not stay here! We stayed four nights moving rooms after the first night from an alarming room that shouldn't ever have been considered suitable for staying guests. Whilst the second room was larger, it was tired, shabby and grubby, the room wasn't serviced once throughout our stay. The hot water remained mildly tepid whenever we attempted to wash. After our first experience of the chaotic breakfast we were committed to eating out.

This is the dirtiest hotel we've ever stayed in. Thick dust on every surface. Carpets not hoovered. Windows so dirty you can hardly see through them. Thick dust on the beds fabric headboard. Windows screwed shut and in a terrible state. Everything about the room and hotel was very tired. It should not even have 1 star. Even the hallway surfaces and display cabinets were covered in dust and old cobwebs. On departure the Manager was not available so I walked the receptionist down to the room to show her how unclean it was. She was also disgusted and promised me a call from the General Manager. It's now 3 days later and the only contact I've had was a generic e-mail asking for a good review on tripadvisor. Obviously not going to happen. The General Manager, cleaning manger, and the cleaners should be sacked immediatly. The garden room was £550 for 4 nights and they also tried to charge £5 per day for parking which the receptionist waived as I complained. I will welcome a phone call from the management and a refund of at least half the money but I won't hold my breath.. If you have booked this hotel cancel now and go elsewhere.

I agree with Karen M, my friend and I have been many times and we have always had a good time, this time however, it has got worse, I was awake at 5 in the morning with a drip from the ceiling, we had to put a bucket on the bed to catch the drips, we were however moved to one of the garden rooms which was nice but we had to go and fetch our own cases whilst a manager sat on reception, we also had to wait for someone to come to the reception area to give us the key to room 12 to fetch our bags. Really poor service, the hotel appears to no longer have a hot water machine at breakfast so water is in flasks on a table, it’s luke warm, the table has tea stains all over it and no one makes sure there is mugs and to wipe occasionally. We loved coming to this hotel but we won’t b back.

Initially, the room looked nice. However, worth noting that there wasn't a door to the bathroom and no lights over any of the mirrors, including the dressing table. The toilet and sink are attached to a Sani flow unit, which is very noisy when it's working. Also, the sink doesn't empty very quickly. After having a bath and pulling the plug to empty the bath, we noticed the floor becoming flooded and put the plug back in. The room cost £151 for a one night mid week stay, and I would say this is overpriced. Sadly, we won't be returning soon.

The hotel was very tired/dated and when we went to breakfast there was no one there to take any orders or give any direction. There was seemingly nowhere obvious to sit as none of the tables were set. When someone eventually did show their face, I asked if I could get a cup of tea, at which point they said ‘oh you want a mug’. Yes please was my response as there were none on the tables or anywhere else. We had sat down as a couple, they then provided one mug, stared at my other half and said ‘oh, you want one as well?’ 😂😂😂
