What a wonderful welcome we had, after 4 - 5 hours of drive straight from Colombo, the front office staff greeted us with warm Sri Lankan welcome providing wet towels to refresh us and offering a cozy indoor area for us to settle and grab a fresh drink. Staff also served us Mini patties, cookies, and local sweets platter treats to enjoy. Check-in was smooth and we were guided to the chalet by our personal butler Thiloka. He is friendly, always reaches guests with a smile, and is super helpful. Chalet (one from Arachchi chalets) reserved for us facing paddy fields, nice deck for you to lower and unwind. Just sit back and relax the serenity, breathe some fresh air, and listen to birds chirping throughout the day. All amenities are there including coffee coffee-making machine - you can enjoy a hot cup of espresso. Though no air-conditioning to suit their eco-luxury theme, natural air flow is more than adequate to make your stay comfortable. Nice spacious bathroom which is just covered with half doors. These “Arachchi” chalet type is more suitable for families with kids. The housekeeping team is putting great effort into assisting you in every way possible. Bicycle rides are a must-do to explore the corners of this beautiful property. We were on full board basis - meals are on set menu, all choices from the menu are super delicious and tasty, come on generous portions, and you can discuss with staff mix and match the options available on the menu. Western and Sri Lankan dishes are there with Soups, Appetizers, Mains, and deserts. Some delicious kid’s meal menu choices are also available. Almost the rice comes from their own paddy fields on the premises, and most vegetables too. They do produce all delicious desserts including coconut ice creams. Breads are made in-house too which is served during our breakfast. Don't forget to try their signature Sri Lankan Rice & Curry for lunch. It comes with 10+ vegetables, meat on your choice and some nice condiments. Treat not to miss. Should try Sri Lankan milk rice with curries and Kola Kanda for breakfast. Absolutely delicious picks. All these meals are served with great care by the restaurant staff, with special mention on Mr. Faizal, well well-experienced senior supervisor adding little conversations to make things interesting along with your meal, especially with kids. Should mention the high standards of food hygiene, the unique and nice presentation of food. Restaurant which is open air but with all comfortable table/seating arrangement. It was cloudy, drizzling outside, and little dark when we had our lunch, and imagine you’re enjoying a nice warm meal with mild and refreshing cool weather. Such a delightful and one-of-a-kind experience. We had wonderful time at pool which is facing the “Poonagala” mountain range, refreshing dip and very relaxing time watching peacocks and other birds on the surrounded area. It’s hardly getting crowded hence we had it just for us, kids enjoyed the time at the pool
