After the Rains - Rainforest Lodge

An amazing stay in a beautiful resort. From the moment we arrived we relaxed, staff were so helpful and friendly. We stayed in Laliliki which had stunning views across the valley, it was spotlessly clean, spacious and had a great balcony. The food was delicious with the flexibility to choose dishes if you didn’t want everything. Every dish we had was amazing. We went on the plantation walk and village walk which were very informative and interesting.

Tucked away in the serene hills of Wayanad, After The Rains is truly a hidden gem. If you're looking to disconnect from the chaos and reconnect with nature, this is your place. The view from the property is breathtaking — misty valleys, lush coffee plantations, and absolute silence except for birdsong and rustling leaves. The hospitality is what stood out the most. The staff were incredibly warm, attentive, and made us feel like family. Special shoutout to the chefs — every meal was a celebration of local flavors, served with love. The traditional Kerala dishes, especially the fish curry and appams, were just incredible. Rooms are spacious, rustic yet well-maintained, with balconies that open up to green vistas. It's not overly fancy — and that’s the beauty of it. It blends in with the landscape and respects the environment. We also took a plantation walk guided by the host, which was both informative and refreshing. There’s a sense of calm that settles over you here — slow mornings, soulful conversations, and an unhurried pace of life. Perfect for couples, families, or solo travelers seeking peace, authenticity, and an immersive Wayanad experience. We left with full hearts and can’t wait to return.

This has to be one of the best places we’ve ever stayed There was a breathtaking view from our own private balcony. Also many stunning view points in the estate including while dining. We had 3 nights here but it was not enough. I would love to return and spend a week here. There is much to do in the area but I would spend most of the day in the resort itself bird and animal watching, swimming in the pool and exploring the plantation itself. The staff were so helpful and always willing to show us things The food was second to none. The entire spread of dishes was impressive and each individual dish was delicious. Every meal was a revelation. This was the only place where freshly ground coffee (from the estate) with cafetière and loose whole leaf tea leaves was provided

The location was overall great, i loved the silence which let me to live in the fresh forest ambience. The food option was limited but the taste was good. Overall it’s a great experience to disconnect from the city and live surrounded by nature.

I have given 1 rating only for the view and ok ok food. First of all the property is quite interior and with no roads and proper lighting to reach. No arrangement for driver stay which is basic for the good resorts. Rooms has mosquitos flies and room aesthetic doesn’t justify the money spent. You dont have much amenities and activity which justify the premium. If you want calm environment with the view than you can go but again its quite expensive for this as you can get this way cheaper in any other resort which is near and charge less. Last but not least dont go for makemytrip scam of super package they say mini bar which is banana chips 50 gm and tea coffee set which is provided free but make my trip charge 1000 extra. Super expensive banana chip i ever had.

It was okay. Didn't feel it was worth the hype and money. The cottages were really pretty. Nice view from the room. Cute balconies and a lot of privacy. There's a bathtub but one has to wait at least 2 hours to fill it because the geyser capacity didn't match up to the tub's. Every time the water heats up, you fill the tub a little. Then wait again for the geyser to heat (10-15 mins. It was very frustrating. The meals were served in the dining area and the food was delicious. A la carte menu - half the items (the good ones) were unavailable. There is some space to walk around the property. We went during the monsoon season so we couldn't explore much as it was pouring heavily every day. Otherwise, there wasn't much to do in terms of activities. There was a swimming pool but it was cold so we decided against it. We went for a plantation walk. It was okay. Not much to see or explore during rains at least. The road to the hotel towards the end becomes slightly bumpy and narrow so an auto guy may crib. Better to come via a cab or personal vehicle. In terms of hospitality, the staff was decent. They were helpful but not overtly warm.
