We stayed at Kwafubesi for 1 night whilst holidaying close by, and my oh my, it was an experience we will never forget. We were picked up by our Ranger Mpho, who had the biggest smile from the Mabula Reserve reception area. Kwafubesi is approx a 15-minute drive away. On arrival, there were welcome drinks while the lovely Margaret checked us in and showed us around and shared our itinerary for our short break. Lunch was served around 1.30pm in the restaurant, which is all table service. We had chicken Schnitzel with a Greek salad and thick chips, and it was absolutely delicious. Our afternoon drive with Mpho was 3.30pm, and it was only us 2 as his passengers, which felt really exclusive. (I'm guessing we were the only guests at this time as the following morning drive there was 6 of us) Mpho was just fantastic, he has a beautiful calming nature and gave us so much information about the wildlife on the reserve. He is really passionate about his job. A highlight for the 3 of us was seeing around 20 White Rhino at a dam enjoying their own sundowner and watching the junior Rhino's playing around - it was incredible. For our following morning drive at 6.30am, we had a personal wake-up call and yummy cookies and hot drinks before we set off. Again, Mpho was the perfect Ranger and took us on a fantastic morning drive with a coffee stop ovet the plains. Mpho is just amazing at what he does, and we'd like to say a huge thank you for making our short stay a memorable one. Food Our meals were all table service and cooked beautifully by Johannes, the food is a very high standard and full of flavour. Evening meal we had a 4 course meal with a choice of each course and breakfast was a cooked breakfast with a course of continental pastries, cheeses, deli meats and granola with yoghurt. It was all so delicious. Tent Our tent was gorgeous! So cosy and comfortable with everything you would need. The outdoor shower really allowed you to be with nature. There were amenities included, a kettle for drinks and bottles of water on ice. It was so peaceful, and Serene. You could hear animals in the distance at night and felt very safe at the same time. Mpho even walked us back to our tent after dinner when it was dark. The bed was so comfortable and even had a electric blanket as evenings could get chilly. The whole surroundings of Kwafubesi is stunning! The small pool area is the right size to accommodate full capacity and the staff are just fantastic. Very attentive without being too much. I wish we would've stayed for 2 nights. We had such an amazing time at Kwafubesi and wouldn't hesitate to return. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay a memorable one
