The Heather's Bed and Breakfast

We stayed here for 4 nights and had a very good experience. The room was large, quiet, comfortable and well equipped. Breakfast was very good, with several choices and plenty of food. Great location-easy to reach all the local attractions and a good pub with restaurant just down the road. Heather was very helpful, cheerful and welcoming.

Another wonderful stay at Heather's B&B. This is my third visit back here, and I cannot fault it. The bed is like sleeping on a cloud, the breakfast is just superb! My room was wonderful and comfortable, spacious and I always sleep so well. The location is ideal as you can walk to the beach for an early morning walk. Thank you Heather for looking after me so well, the house is spotless and you are the perfect hostess! I look forward to coming back again.

The good: Nicely decorated and clean room with comfy beds and quality furniture Lovely Dorset apple cake and cup of tea offered on arrival which was very nice indeed Fruit salad at breakfast was lovely and delicious coffee – although you only get one cup and there was no offer of a refill which was a shame. Heather made relaxed polite conversation and enjoyable conversation at breakfast Beautiful flowers in her well-kept garden and the house itself has lovely kerb appeal even though it’s on a very busy road The not so good: Breakfast: I had already spoken to Heather on July 8th (as others have mentioned, she rang me to ask if I could book directly with her, to save her the 20% commission fee *********** charge her) During our conversation, I explained we were vegetarians and that nowadays you can easily get vegetarian sausages and bacon. She said she would have a lovely veggie breakfast ready for us but unfortunately, that didn’t happen. Heather’s idea of a veggie breakfast is to omit the usual meat items! Given 3 out of the 4 of us guests staying with her were vegetarian, she was clearly interested in saving her money rather than buying the veggie versions for her guests. As mentioned by another reviewer – my idea of a “Fabulous breakfast” is not sharing a milk jug and a 500g pot of yogurt with the lid rolled back and a spoon in it that clearly others have used in the days previous. There’s no hygiene control and the yogurt had been out at least an hour whilst we were at breakfast and no doubt was put back in the fridge for the next guests! I’ve been to many hotels and B&Bs in my time but never have I seen this where guest have to share a large tub of yogurt and milk jug. I’ve always seen individual single serving sized pots. At least the yogurt was in date though unlike another reviewer’s comment! Jam was also shared between guests – no individual pots and whilst I’m all for saving the planet, again there’s no hygiene control because they sit on the table all day along with the ketchup and HP sauce. It was on the table when we arrived in the afternoon along with the iron and ironing board that was in the hallway the whole time we were there. Again, as mentioned by another reviewer, there were personal belongings in both wardrobes in our room! Walking boots, picture frames and slippers on one side and the other wardrobe was completely full of clothes! Heather had clearly been in our room when we were out, on what was the hottest night on record and opened the windows which I’d deliberately shut before leaving so that it was cool when we came back! Again, also mentioned by another reviewer but at least we weren’t in there getting changed! Fortunately, we were in the twin room at the back so the road noise wasn’t so bad and we did have an en suite. Chanced on this great bed and breakfast on the edge of the new forest, needing a place to stay before a meeting in Bournemouth. Lovely host, very welcoming, great food, couldn’t have done more to make me feel at home. Fully recommend staying, thank you!

Heather was so welcoming, she gave us lovely apple cake on arrival. We had the large ensuite room with a huge comfortable bed. Super breakfast too. She is such an interesting lady to chat to. We had a family gathering in Winchester and Heather was very flexible with our arrival time

Lovely , homely accommodation and a wonderful, friendly host. Room was beautiful, shower was simply divine. Plenty of breakfast choice. It was perfect for us x Heather went above and beyond in making our stay very pleasurable. I highly recommend The Heathers

As usual this bed n breakfast is by far the best establishment in area by a country mile . The previous reviewer is wrong on so many points it's laughable. Which business would allow that to happen in the middle of the night ?? As for Heather a very warm person who has time for everyone, chatty ,always accommodating any reasonable requests. I have had to arrive very late on occasions and it is never a worry Room is always perfect, breakfast is to die for and lots of it . I want people to disregard last review as it is so not true of what was said about this lovely lady .

1. I was unable to make a sound between 10 pm and 7 am. Strictly enforced! 2. Wi-Fi sporadic at best, Wi-Fi out completely during my stay. 3. Innkeeper was extremely intrusive in relation to person matters and person space. 4. The kitchen is not equipped to provide the items stated on the menu. 5. Inquiry regarding partial refund was rebuffed. 6. Remarkably, the room accommodations were sufficient.

I had a wonderful time at Heather's Bed and Breakfast. Her home is beautiful and my bathroom and bedroom were prestine. I had such a good night's sleep, and really enjoyed the delicious full English breakfast which Heather made for me in the morning. Heather was a very hospitable and caring hostess, ensuring that I had everything I needed.
