There is a lovely, laid back atmosphere to this hotel and the moment you enter the reception area there is a wonderful ambiance. The staff are incredibly friendly, courteous and helpful; particularly the concierge and reception staff; all other staff were also exceptional. Although the main restaurant is classified as ‘buffet style’ there were at least three chefs preparing fresh food at all services; breakfast, lunch and dinner. The choice of food was very good and there was always a good selection of local dishes; be extremely wary of the innocuous chicken starter as it was the only dish that nearly beat me in terms of spiciness; I managed in the end. Although desserts were mainly European in style I have to thoroughly recommend the coconut pudding; absolutely delicious. There were never any issues with sunbeds and the pool staff would always ensure that you got the sunbed of choice. The freeform pool was lovely and maintained to a high standard. The pool bar was an added bonus! The standard of the rooms was very good and, although, there were some general small maintenance issues, when reported they were swiftly sorted. During my stay I had a room change as the monsoon rains made my first balcony somewhat precarious. There are monsoons in August and the sight of horizontal rain must be seen. The bed and pillows were one of the best I have ever slept in; they are just so comfortable. Overall a really relaxing stay and I would like to say a huge thank you and if I were to return to Sri Lanka I would seriously consider returning to this hotel.

We arrived at The Royal Palms after a tour and spent 9 relaxing days at this beautiful hotel. We had a large, comfortable bedroom and appreciated the authentic Srilankan decor. Our room and the rest of the hotel were spotlessly clean, and the grounds and pool area were also extremely well kept. We loved the food and I would definitely recommend a visit to the Jspanese restaurant, our meal there was amazing. All the staff could not be more helpful and friendly, they were attentive and nothing was too much trouble, we really couldn't have wished for more, the service was fantastic. We enjoyed our time at The Royal Palms immensely, so I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel.

What a fabulous 10 nights spent in Sri Lanka. As expected the hotel was great - a large room with a huge bed & great aircon! Food was delicious but the best was the people. Everything was done with a big smile & friendly chat. Then there was the added touches that made it special like towel animals, leaf birds & flowers.

What a magnificent adventure full of flavor, color, kindness, comfort... nothing except good...: the Royal Palm Beach Hotel is close to Paradise and the staff are angels... I particularly thank Ajesh and Tharindu whose had patience, kindness and professionalism to respond to my specific request. A big thank also to the entire team of RPBH.. Without doubt the best hotel holiday experience we've ever had. On our honeymoon was hoping for something special and royal palms beach is certainly that. From the moment you arrive to the minute you leave the exceptional staff just can't do enough for you. Super efficient, warm, patient and always full of smiles and kindness. Abiding memories of hotel are wonderful facilities but overwhelmingly it is the staff who make this such a magical place. Special mentions to Upali, Nawod, Benura, Duminda, Jayindu, Chanaya, Jayasena. Kasun was welcoming and helpful every day in reception and is a lovely man. Special thanks to the chefs for delicious food every day, and also for our exquisite Japanese meal on our last night. We have recommended this exceptional hotel, and your beautiful country, to everyone we know. No wonder it receives so many awards. We'd give it our own if we could..

We came on a company staff trip The hotel stay was one of the best. The hotel was clean and hygienic. It's was very serene at night The staff was genial and always extended assistance whenever we needed. The entire company staff enjoyed the trip.

This was amazing vacation. Weather was great (even if it was monsoon season). Staff in the hotel is excelent: Dinesh in the pool bar, "multilanguage" Sanjeewa in the restaurant, cleaning guy, Kasun at the reception, Crishma and Pavinda. I would say that they are best of the best and deserve some rewards! Food was great and delicious. The only concern was snacks. It could be a bit more selection. We were missing fruits there. It could be improved. Especially that Sri Lanka is famous for its fruits) Summarizing, we are happy we could spend 2 weeks in the hotel, sightseeing Sri Lanka, having great food, enjoying swimming pool, sunbathing and beeing surrounded by atmoshere created by people having real fun to serve to the guests.
