Grand Beach

We decided to go for a day out, and the day was cloudy , a bit rainy it was a holiday in Sri Lanka. So ,we visited many places to relax and we were looking for a buffet restaurant including pool facilities. Finally we found GRAND BEACH (Wijaya Leisure) in Wadduwa. It was a great experience , starting from the first moment we arrived The customer service was very helpful and excellent... The smiling professional, very honest and polite lady in the reception greeted us with the genuine smile and she explained about the facilities with the details very clearly... Big thanks to Mr.Gishantha Withana ( Assistant Resident Manager) who gave us the supreme Customer services that are unforgettable, I really surprised his behaviour he was so humble and very professional hotelier...we had conversations many times, About the food he suggested me a set menu for my family members... immediately he invited the kitchen Chef to intoduce and explain more about food preferences. The quality of foods are excellent and potions of foods are very good, enough for many people.. really worth for money. We noticed the restaurant service staff was very attentive, anticipating the customer needs.The atmosphere was amazing, the lobbies were very clean and tidy. Once again Specially thanking to Mr Gishantha Withana for his unforgettable services. I would recommend this place for any occasions.It was great evening, keep it up your good service GRAND BEACH ,we will back very soon:) :) :) :)

We loved our stay Grand Beach - right on the soft sandy beach with stunning ocean views! Waking up to the sound of waves and stepping straight onto the shore was magical. The pool and beach bar were perfect for relaxing days, while the fresh seafood dinners by the water made evenings special. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and many had private balconies facing the sea. Staff were friendly and helpful - especially when arranging our sunset boat trip. Perfect mix of relaxation and fun. Can't wait to return! 5/5

My husband and I recently stayed at this hotel. It did not get off to a very good start. Negatives 1. After we had paid in full at check in we were then informed that they Do Not have a liquor license. This is not shown on any booking websites or their website, a major oversight or not !! You could however consume your own alcohol in your room & poolside but not in the restaurant. 2.The walls in the corridors in the part of the hotel where our room was are covered in mould and were dirty. 3. Our room smelt mouldy, and was dirty particularly the bathroom. The outdoor furniture was also filthy covered in bird droppings. 4. Rooms in this part of the hotel are very rundown and dirty. They should not be available to potential guests. the wing should be closed for renovations. At this point we decided to check out and attempt to get a refund. They offered to upgrade us, so after seeing the room which was better we decided to stay. Positives 1. Pool was very good. Plenty of sun lounges and umbrellas. Pool staff excellent. 2.Meals were very good. Not a large selection but enough to cater for our needs. 3.Restaurant staff excellent. Friendly, courteous and very helpful. 4. Gardens beautifully maintained. A lovely hearing impaired Gardner took much pride in his work. 5. It appears that efforts are being made to revamp the place. Would we stay again probably not.
