Thank you for making what likely was our final visit to Villefranche memorable. We have stayed at the hotel a number of times over the years and on many occasions rented an apartment in the Palais Marine. Villefranche is a special place for us. You have done a wonderful job of upgrading the hotel. Our room 32 was excellent. Frederick and Marisol truly are amazing. They are problem solvers who assist guest at every opportunity. The bar/breakfast and its staff are exceptional. Thank you for all of this. We had one problem: the hotel lost a pair of my pants, trousers. I arrived with four; one was sent to the hotel laundry never to be seen again; I left with three. On enquiry by the hotel when my pants were not with the returned clean laundry, the hotel was informed that although the laundry slip included a pair of pants, there were no pants in the bag. Somehow they disappeared between reception, where my wife left the laundry in the morning, and the laundry facility. Sadly and surprisingly, the hotel took no responsibility for this. Edward Chiasson *** I am sad and surprised that you appear to ignore my concerns about a missing garment in the hotel laundry as expressed in my June 16, 2024 email. It is not what I expected from the Welcome Hotel. I provide some background information that may assist. As noted previously, you lost a pair of pants that were in laundry processed through the hotel. The pants were purchased (not overly expensive) for our trip to France. They were worn twice. I spilled something on them. We decided to send out laundry at the hotel mainly to have the pants cleaned. They were placed in a hotel laundry bag with a slip showing the pants and other items. The bag that was quite full was deposited by my wife at reception in the morning. Subsequently, a staff person looked in the bag and noted our room number had not been included on the laundry slip. A staff member approached my wife at breakfast and obtained the number. The laundry was returned later that day. We noticed that the pants were not included. I went to reception and later was advised that the laundry had noted that the pants were included on the laundry slip, but were not in the bag. I was advised that steps would be taken to find them. Other than making inquiries of staff, I do not know what was done. It was inferred that we had not included the pants in the laundry bag. Apart from being inconsistent with the surrounding facts on why we sent clothes to the hotel laundry, there are two facts that are inconsistent with this; one is subjective; the other is objective: my wife has a clear recollection of putting the pants in the bag that was quite full; if the pants were not included in the bag, they would still be with us, which they are not. The laundry was entrusted to the hotel. The pants apparently disappeared between hotel reception and the laundry facility. I simply do not understand why the Welcome Hotel has not recognized this fact and taken responsi
