Rinoterra Minho

Great hotel with amazing views over the Duoro and into Spain with great sunsets. A very warm welcome and tour of the hotel, pools and spa. The bedroom in the main building was large with doors opening onto a private garden terrace. The meals were all freshly prepared and locally sourced by Anna who also baked the fresh cakes for afternoon tea. I thoroughly recommend the hotel and hope to stay again if in the area.

My husband Giles and I took a six day cycling holiday in Northern Portugal that we’d booked and arranged via Inntravel (they are a British company who specialise in walking and cycling holidays). We stayed at three different hotels (each one for two days) and Rinoterra was the last on our travels - and wow did they save the best for last! Rinoterra is set in a small quiet street away from all the hustle and bustle and is just a total oasis of peace, quiet, calm, relaxation and comfort. We’d cycled about 20 miles to reach Rinoterra - the final ascent had been quite steep - so it was a joy to be greeted by Liliana our hostess with such enthusiasm and warmth! She was super friendly and efficient and took the time to explain all the amenities to us (the new spa, indoor pool and relaxation rooms are spectacular!) and we had a wonderful big room with great views across the Rio Minho to the mountains of Northern Spain. Anna, the wonderful chef prepares and serves OUTSTANDING meals! If you’ve got a hearty appetite you will not be disappointed! She was so accommodating as well for me because I’m pescatarian and only eat tiny portions and she made sure that I was really well fed with little portions that were perfectly presented and utterly delicious! There’s a beautiful cosy atmosphere about all the parts of the old house and we were able to just relax and soak up the surroundings after a half day cycling followed by an hour or so in the pool and spa. The whole place is spotlessly clean and ALL the staff were super friendly and helpful. If I win the lottery I am moving in!

Beautiful small-scale property with incredible views, fantastic spa, attentive staff, very comfortable bed. And, some of the best food I have had in Portugal. We traveled in February and despite the rain and cold, Rinoterra was so comfortable. The floor in the bathroom is heated, and immersing in the spa was the perfect way to manage the cooler temperatures. Highly recommend!

We can only endorse everything that previous reviewers have said. You are in a beautiful house, with a lovely garden, being looked after by friendly people and offered delicious food for breakfast and dinner. If you are going to this part of Portugal, don’t stay anywhere else!

Stayed there for 3 nights during Easter. Even when trying hard, there is nothing to put a finger on: -Very attentive staff -Great food -Relaxing sorroundings, very peacefull -Amazing views -All details thought of to make it relaxing for you If you are looking for the wild party-life, don’t come here. If you want to relax, recharge your batteries, getting spoiled and taken care of (and maybe take a few walks outside) look no further!

The hotel is just amazing! We enjoyed a one-night stay at one of the bungalows and we couldn’t be happier. The house is beautiful and very well maintained, the decor is done with taste, the facilities are top-notch. We won’t exaggerate if we say that it was one of the best visits of our lives. And did we mention the restaurant?! The food was fantastic for dinner and for breakfast. Chef Ana took great care for us and catered to our vegan diet in a way we could never even imagine. We’ve never felt so well taken care of. Best best best!!! ❤️❤️❤️
