Vilanculos Beach Lodge

We visited for 5 days at end of February. As always the lodge, facilities, gardens, staff all spotless and beyond reproach. Thank you for always going the extra mile, personal attention and smiles abound. We will be back in June for the next re-charge! Love Neels & Chantel

A stunning location. We thought we had exhausted the 'wows' but the views around the hotel, pool and beach were, again, some of the best we've seen. Stunning. Our accommodation was charming, clean, quiet and comfortable and the gardens were beautiful. My wife's complimentary welcome massage was very well received! Whilst visiting we went on the cultural tour. Whilst I initially thought it was quite expensive, it was absolutely worth every Mozambican Metical as I feel the tour of the town and the people we met gave us at least a glimpse of the real Mozambique. Our guide, Dionysio, is quite an extraordinary young man. Inspirational, informative and generous with his time, knowledge and energy. We took a boat trip out to the islands gave us the opportunity to see Bazaruto and snorkel on 2 mile reef. Absolutely in fantastic condition and to say 'I've dived worse in the Maldives' should give an indication of that! Apart from the snorkelling, we spent a relaxed day exploring the beautiful beaches and dunes. The guide on this occasion was functional more than engaging and the presence of one guest with his sound system was a minor dent in an otherwise fabulous day. The staff at the lodge were utterly charming and did their best at all times. It was a genuine pleasure to meet the manager, Angela, as well as Joseph and the team. They certainly have a little corner of paradise!

I had very high expectation and I can honestly say that it was incredible. The rooms are great, the food was outstanding, the people and the service was the real gem of this wonderful place. No complaints except that it was not long enough. We will no doubt be back and if you are looking for a place to completely de stress and just sit back and enjoy a wonderful relaxing space this is the place for you.

Our family stay at the lodge was truly amazing! The staff was exceptionally friendly, helpful, and always went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic experience. The service was impeccable, and we felt so welcomed throughout our visit. Although we had some windy days, the beauty and tranquility of the lodge made up for it completely. It was an unforgettable experience, and we created some wonderful memories. We absolutely loved it and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a perfect getaway! 5/5

We stayed at Vilanculos Beach Lodge in July 2024 for 4 nights of pure tranquility. The resort is set on a hillside that leads down to beautiful gardens before direct access to the beach. The individual cottages are perfectly designed with a big comfortable bed and rustic furnishings. It was a quiet time and there were plenty of sun-beds around the infinity pool or the tropical gardens and with the in-house spa make it a perfect place for a relaxing stay. The food is fantastic with lots of fresh seafood including lobster available daily. The wait for food, even simple breakfast items, is usually much longer than expected but it is all cooked fresh and when in such a gorgeous place, there’s definitely no rush. Vilanculos Beach Lodge is the perfect place to a relaxing Mozambique stay.

This was our second stay here.....and we loved this place just as much as the first time around. Stayed here for 5 nights. It is a really lovely place - comfortable rooms, fantastic setting right on the beach, delicious food and great service. Food was so good we stayed in every night and ate in their restaurant. During the day we walked down the beach and checked out a few of the other accommodation options and saw nowhere as nice as VBL.
