Pestana Vila Sol Golf & Resort Hotel

Las hormigas campaban a sus anchas por toda la habitación. A las 2:00 de la madrugada nos despierta sobresaltados la alarma de incendios, sin ningún motivo justificado, tras llamar varias veces a recepción, solamente recibimos un: "Todo está bien, disculpen las molestias". Las instalaciones comunes bien.

Pestana Vil Sol Vilamoura was a very comfortable place for a short break. There’re lots of facilities for a restful break - extensive grounds, indoors and outdoors swimming pools, tennis courts, other wellness facilities, bar and restaurant. There’s also a 27-hole golf course and golfing school for enthusiasts. The pond at the back was a joy with its resident swans! Our garden room was in a block of villas with a patio at the back. The service was great - issues raised were immediately tended to.

Really enjoyed a golf trip here in December. When for 3 nights with a mate. Played the course twice and enjoyed 1-18 better than 10-27. You don't need a buggy, so not worth forking out for. Food is cheaper in the clubhouse, so better going there for lunch and beers. You can sit outside and watch the golf in the sun. Breakfast was great, rooms were sufficient. Pool table in the bar was also good. €7 in an Uber to the harbour Would go back

The staff made my experience with this hotel 5 star. Everyone was extremely helpful, friendly and informative. Breakfast is great with plenty of choice. The rooms on the side overlooking the golf are ideal, they’re clean and beds I personally think of comfortable, plus plenty of room. The cleaners on our floor 315 were so good always kept there job done. Good value for money especially if booking golf rounds at Pestana courses.

Firstly the golf! Clubhouse is 100m from the hotel -excellent organisation for clubs, buggies and organising rounds (we used golfbreaks). Clubs were the latest Qi10s. 27holes and laid out perfectly and immaculate. Some tough challenges but all doable even for a high handicapper like me! Good bar area and good service. The teo guys in the pro shop organising everything were super efficient and friendly - our first golf break so we needed the help! We stayed in the outside rooms which had a seating area outside for relaxing, great showers and very clean and spacious. Pool area had plenty of sun loungers, towels etc and a good bar and excellent and reasonably priced food. Breakfast in main hotel was also very good with good coffee and mimosa’s! Hotel was about 25mins from airport (~€25) and Uber to Vilamoura was a short 5 mins and ~€5 to 7. No problem in getting Ubers there and back. Some great restaurants and cocktail bars (Rosa Blanca on the beach front made amazing cocktails!) and around the marina and an especially excellent restaurant a short walk away (O’Diplom - a real hidden gem of a place)

Lovely place and the staff are amazing from the moment you walk through the door. The food is not brilliant but the resort is based around golfers who just want to get up, throw a breakfast down them and get out. I can’t really fault the place and honestly think it was our fault for choosing a resort based around golf parties and not a more family-friendly place to spend a week. There is nothing here for children so don’t come if you’re looking for a family holiday, the apartments are fine but the outer areas are not very child friendly; concrete edgings around apartments are very sharp, unfinished and not easily negotiated by toddlers and there’s absolutely nothing here for them to do safely while you relax. If you’re here for the golf then it’s perfectly set out for you but if you’re looking for a place you can bring the kids then look elsewhere. Be careful when ordering drinks when you go for the dinner you paid for as they even charge you for water with your dinner and don’t order the lamb ‘cutlets’ if they offer a la carte as they are just chunks of cheap fat and inedible. I’d come here again for golf but I certainly wouldn’t bring my granddaughter.

Golf onsite; garden chalet rooms around an outdoor pool; lovely food at the golf course clubhouse; and simple to get an Uber taxi down to the marina. Everything was clean and tidy. Simple but sufficient breakfast buffet- could have had omlette but we were in a hurry.

The location of the hotel was ideal for us, next to the golf course and around 5min by car to the town. Breakfast was great, with many options to choose from.  Our room was clean and anything we have asked for has been done. I asked for more hangers and they were in the room in an hour . The cleaners did a fabulous job and were friendly. The pool area was great and food at the Pool Bar tasty. The staff was very friendly, attentive and helpful, which transfers us into a very pleasant environment. Definitely be returning

Was not sure what to expect but everyone was very friendly and helpful. The service at the restaurant was excellent and they made us feel very welcome. The breakfast buffet had a decent selection of hot /cold items. We never left disappointed with the breakfast. Room was very clean and simple with a nice balcony. Cleaning staff was very attentive.
