Really well-positioned guesthouse on the Gaia side of the river Douro. Close to all port houses. Comfortable and clean rooms. Carla was extremely helpful and talked us through all the best places to visit. Breakfast was generous and delicious. Only wish would be to have tea and coffee available in room. Would definitely stay here again if we returned to Porto

A lovely and convenient place to stay in Gaia. We loved the feel of the cozy room and although it was very small but had everything we needed including a small decanter of port to start our trip out right. The location is perfect (steps away from river front and the Sandeman cellar) and we thoroughly enjoyed staying in Gaia over Porto.

This is a nice affordable place to stay. A few things to know: 1) the bathroom is only separated from the bedroom by a frosted glass door that doesn't close entirely, so isn't very private. 2) There is seldom someone at the front desk so make arrangements for when you are arriving. 3) There is lots of construction in Porto so it took an hour of driving around the city to find a clear path to the guest house (google maps kept sending us to streets that were blocked by construction). We arrived at 6pm and there was no one at the front to let us in. The rooms are clean and bright and it is easy to walk into Porto.

We enjoyed our stay at CharmGH. The room was modern and clean. The staff is kind and accommodating. We arrived early in the day to Porto and were able to leave our bags until the room was available. The room had a small balcony and a view to the Douro. Located right off the river on the Gaia side near lots of restaurants and the Port cellars. An easy walk across the bridge to the Porto side of the river. Do note that the walk to the nearest metro stop is up very steep hills and stairs.

great hotel, but need to be a heavy sleeper due to the natural stone you hear everything outside and inside. The hotel is in a location where you can walk everywhere and the staff are great and helpful with anything you might need.

lovely room, great location for bars and restaurants,and carla and ricardo were really helpful with tips and advice-would totally recommend this hotel to anybody.Great stay. would return to this hotel if we were re-visiting porto

Carla is een uitblinker in hospitality en daarbij vond ik haar een fijn persoon ( maar dat terzijde) Goed guesthouse, kleinschalig, leuk concept met wat kleinigheden, die je voor lief neemt mede door de aandacht en ontvangst van Carla, die hier wel het verschil maakt.
