During previous stays at this hotel in 2014 and 2016, I was impressed by its quality and service. Unfortunately, my recent experience revealed a noticeable decline in several areas that significantly impacted my stay. Firstly, the hotel’s condition has deteriorated, with essential amenities no longer functioning properly. The elevator is now out of service, and there was no assistance provided for carrying luggage up three flights of stairs, which created an inconvenience upon arrival. Additionally, the air conditioning system, which was previously a highlight, is now restricted; a screw has been attached to the remote control, preventing guests from adjusting the temperature. This change detracts from the comfort of the rooms, particularly during warmer periods. Security measures have also diminished. While in past visits, a secure entry system was in place, allowing guests to lock the front door and access their rooms with separate keys, the current policy lacks such precautions. ( front doors can be opened with a kick) The front desk is unstaffed after 4 p.m., leaving the main entrance accessible without supervision. This lack of security creates concerns for guest safety. Communication with the staff presented further challenges. The sole receptionist does not speak any language other than Italian, which makes it difficult for international guests to communicate their needs. Moreover, during my stay, I witnessed a staff incident where the receptionist reprimanded a housekeeper in a manner that was unprofessional and public. Such matters should be handled privately to maintain a respectful environment for both guests and employees. Overall, I believe this property would benefit from renewed investment in both its facilities and customer service training to meet the standards it previously upheld. I hope that management will take these concerns into account to restore the quality and comfort that past guests have appreciated.
