Embarc Vancouver

We used our resort points to book a week at the Embarc property in downtown Vancouver at a time of year that is not the greatest for weather. But that was not our objective. We have many members of the family and some close friends who live in the area and we needed a base for our visiting. It worked out perfectly. We were comfortable and independent in a location that enabled us to schedule calls on our respective hosts and guests with a minimum of time spent commuting. We were made welcome on arrival and were treated to an early check in which was appreciated since our flight from the east arrived at mid morning. The one bedroom notch was well appointed and spotlessly clean. A mid stay refresher by the cleaning staff was very timely. Unfortunately an unusual storm system blocked what would normally be a spectacular view of English Bay and the Salish Sea for three of the our seven days. We did not have time to use the health club but will probably do so on our next visit. My wife uses a wheeled walker to get around and the staff offered help at every turn even though we did not need a lot. The ventilation system was probably the only flaw. The main vent is located above the bed in the master bedroom so a light sleeper will find his or her repose occasionally disturbed when the heat and air exchanger come on.

I'm not sure I want to advertise this on Tripadvisor as we love being members and it might appear like the residences are being marketed outside of "for members". The Wall Centre is where we stayed and I would, similarly, highly recommend it to any travellers that are not members of Embarc.

Great location in the city on high floor with great views of the city. Room is very comfortable, spacious and well appointed for a relaxed stay. There is a kitchenette with microwave if you feel like eating in. 24 hour gym is downstairs in associated hotel and nice pool and hot tubs.

Excellent views, comfortable and very convenient location. Access to Embarc member lounge before and after check in was a big plus.

Great stay for my daughter and I. The hotel is lovely. Service was great. Checkin and Checkout were easy.

We go to this property every couple of years and stay for an extended time (1-3 weeks). Always wonderful as is Vancouver.

Outstanding location, accomodations, and parking setup for downtown Vancouver. Our only negative observations are that the bed was queen size in the 1 bedroom apartments. Given the quality of everything else, it seems that Sheration would provide a king in all of their rooms that are primarily for singles or couples. We understand the need for smaller bed sizes when you're accomodating more people and need multiple beds in a room. A similar observation was the lobby itself. It is wonderfully expansive and open, but the seating areas and colors seemed more like a cruise ship children's area than an upscale hotel chain. The bar was a nice touch for drinks and food but, it too, seemed oddly sterile and absent any ambience at all.

Floor to ceiling view from the 30th floor. Great studio, spacious, perfect for a couple. In the middle of downtown Vancouver.
