I choose Marriott properties because of the brand consistency. Of the thousands of Marriott stays, this was the absolute worst. It was so awful; I immediately called the corporate office. I seriously doubt if any changes have been made, but I'm trying to save someone else the horror of staying here. As I checked in, the manager told me the pool and hot tub were out of service. I wasn't planning on using them, but still, that should have been my first clue that the property had issues. Our room had not been renovated for 20 years and the furniture was completely worn out. The loveseat was so broken down, we could not sit on it. I opened the closet, and the entire door came out of the wall on top of me. The circa 2000 television "set" with coordinating boom box did not work. After I called the corporate office, I was moved to a room with a working closet door and "television set." However, the loveseat was still completely worn out. This hotel was extremely overpriced. We had just left a very nice, actual suite in Nashville that cost less, was located in an area near entertainment and included better amenities. I was given extra points for the awful room, which in no way compensates for Marriott offering such a subpar experience to its guests. Shame on you, Marriott. Are times this tough that you can't update rooms more often than every 20 years? There was also no coffee in the new room.
