Casa TIA Micha

We have travelled all over the world and Casa Tia Micha is one of the best places we have ever stayed in. This place is amazing in every way. It is centrally located, just off the main square, so it is quiet. Restaurants and shops are steps away. It has a beautiful garden which provides an oasis of calm after a day of sightseeing. The rooms are very large and the beds are really comfortable. The staff are so friendly and helpful and tended to our every wish. They couldn’t have been sweeter. The place is so reasonably priced and our booking included breakfast and dinner. Our dinners even included beer and wine. We would return to Valladolid just to stay at this hotel. If you want a taste of an authentic Mexican boutique hotel, then this is your spot. Anne & Andrew, Canada

This was my second stay here. The location is great and the back courtyard setting is beautiful. Eating breakfast and dinner there is a treat. We had no option but to book half board this time. I was concerned because of prior reviews about the dinner, but we really enjoyed our evening meals. The reason for my rating of 4 is solely based on the room we were in (junior suite) and it's windows onto the street. Wednesday night was fine for sleeping, but Thursday and Friday nights we were kept awake til almost 4am due to the nearby disco. I would never stay in that room on the weekends. I really love this hotel and it’s employees, but cannot give it a 5 for that reason. I had earplugs, but the thumping noise of the music was so loud, they did no good. I expressed this to the owner on our departure, she said there are double pained windows, but trust me they don’t help. That is the only room with windows to the street, so I would book any room except the junior suite. I hope you are lucky enough to have Terry serving you breakfast in the morning. She is the sweetest person I've met and such a wonderful addition to the hotel. Currently there are only 2 lounge chairs available to use at the lower pool, but I was told they would be getting new lounge chairs for the upper plunge pool. That will be a definite improvement. I would stay here again, but would make sure to select a different room, especially if it was a disco night.

Stayed twice in a week, both times for 1 night and in different rooms. Both rooms were very clean and comfortable, and each was very unique in layout. The rooms had safes, coffee makers, refrigerators stocked with water bottles, shampoo and shower gel, cable tv and good air conditioning, the showers had good pressure and hot water. Breakfast and dinner were included in the rate I booked. The breakfast is in the hotel's garden and there are options for traditional or local dishes. I opted for the local plates and they were delicious. Dinner is served at the restaurant next door to the hotel and includes an appetizer, main course and beverage. The menu had a good variety of options, the portion was decent and the flavor was great. The hotel staff were extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. Parking: There is free self parking in the Burger King parking lot, which is a right turn into an opening in the building just before the door to the hotel. Don't park in the parking lot on the left, it's restricted to 4-hours. Take a picture of your tag so you can give it to the hotel. This is the perfect place to stay between Merida and Cancun while visiting the Mayan ruins.

We stayed at Casa Tia Micha for three nights and really enjoyed our visit! The property is beautiful with lots of character and the staff were incredible and willing to help with everything we needed. Would highly recommend. The included breakfast and dinner were delicious. On nights where we ventured out to other restaurants for dinner they allowed us a drink instead which was very nice.

Casa Tía Micha is a small cute boutique hotel located down the street from the main park in Valladolid. The location is perfect. The house turned hotel is perfectly located. It is not too far from the main archeological sites. There are plenty of cenotes around too. We stayed in the Santa Ana room, which was spacious with king bed and dining section. Breakfast was included in our trip which was served in the a joining restaurant. There is a back staircase located inside the hotel which gives you access to the restaurant, no need to go out of the hotel and enter from the street. The attention and service was amazing. Everyone from the hotel to the restaurant were attentive and polite. The hotel has a an outdoor garden where you can sit and it also where breakfast is served. It also has two small pools, roof and in garden. Someone posted a poor review stating that the furniture is old, this is not quite true, the furniture is colonial style furniture. If you are looking for big name hotel furniture, this is not the place for you. Additionally, if you are not into charm and quaint this is not the place for you. I personally would definitely return.

This beautiful boutique hotel is full of character a wonderful change from modern living to being a guest in this colonial casa with down to earth, friendly management. Breakfast in the garden was exquisite & were fortunate to have stayed in the honeymoon suite. So glad these places still exist.
