I agree with the 3.5 review before. The rooms (mine was on the 3rd) need MAJOR refurbishment, they are worn out and look horrible. I have been in 3* hotels that looked far better. The room was spacious and clean and the beds sleep very well. Airco worked fine and I had no problems with the wifi. I really appreciated that the toilet is separated with a door in the bathroom, it is so much more hygienic. The room has no kettle but a nespresso machine. The lobby area, restaurant and garden were all fine. Bar could be a bit more sexy though. The pool and especially the fitness are tiny but fine for the very basics. It is such a pity that the rooms are poor because the staff isn’t at all. They are all so helpful, nice and I liked the turn down service with chocolates we got every night. The location is excellent and safe.

My daughter and I had a wonderful week-long stay at Palau de la Mar last month. The building is beautiful and the rooms spacious and clean, with a minimalist decor. A small bottle of wine and some chocolates greeted us on arrival, and there were more chocolates with every turn down. Beds are comfortable. On check in, Patricia was friendly and very helpful, advising us to go to the nearby Mercat de Colón for dinner. Brigitte, the manager, is also lovely and checked in with us several times to ensure we were having a good stay. We had the breakfast once. It had a large variety of delicious offerings, but is pricey. You can go up the street and have tostada, jamon, and fresh orange juice for a lower cost option if you wish. The location is fantastic, very close to Turia park and easy walk to sites in the old city. If we are fortunate enough to return to Valencia, I would happily stay here again.

My husband and I spent 3 nights here recently. We chose this property due to its location and because it is a part of the Bonvoy portfolio. My husband is Titanium Elite and as such we were upgraded to a bigger room, which was much appreciated. We were greeted warmly by reception when we arrived and were offered a welcome drink of cava. When we came back to our room in the evening we were pleasantly surprised with a welcome gift of a bottle of cava and plate of fruits. It was a lovely gesture and overall we could find no fault with the hotel.

This is a great place to stay! The staff are friendly, helpful & welcoming. Our room (room 9 in the garden area) was comfortable and clean. Drawer space is limited but there’s plenty of hanging space. The bath and shower were fine and had a plentiful supply of pleasantly scented toiletries. Complementary chocolates left on the bed every day was a lovely extra touch. The garden is a nice place to enjoy a drink, and offers much needed shade from the very hot sun. Inside there’s a comfy bar where we watched the EURO24 final. (Spain beat England but then they were the much better side!) This hotel is just 5 minutes walk from Colón Metro station. Lines 3 & 5 will take you directly to/from the airport. Sightseeing from the hotel is easy; the hotel is a short walk from the old town, the Cathedral, the trendy Russafa district, the Colón market, the City of Arts & Sciences & the Túria Park and so much more! There are also plenty of buses, which are clean, frequent & all journeys are just €1.50. Several sandy beaches are half an hour’s bus ride away & the bus stops are two minutes from the hotel. València is a gorgeous city & Hospes Palau de la Mar is the perfect place from which to explore it!

This is the only hotel that I would stay at when visiting g Valencia. I am a regular visitor to the country and just simply can’t get enough of it. This hotel is in the centre of Valencia and in easy reach of shops, entertainment and restaurants. Luis and Grace were are bar attendants throughout the stay and these two are amazing. Very accommodating and professional with their knowledge of drinks. They also provided great bar talk. You guys deserve a promotion for your hard work. The breakfast as always was wonderful and I couldn’t remember the gentleman who served us for the breakfast on two days but he was lovely too. All staff were accommodating and the guys at the front desk. Once again thank you for providing us with a lovely stay. Hasta la proxima vez. Nos vemos el año que viene.

A wonderful city based hotel offering a solid base for exploring Valencia Great rooms, great staff and it's own on site restaurant Ampar is a must! Friendly staff who go above and beyond ... comfortable surroundings and a lovely spa and garden area

Just back from a wonderful stay at the Hospes Palau de la Mar. The hotel is in a very convenient position within walking distance to everything, close to bus stops and the Metro. All the staff were fabulous, very friendly and accommodating. We were absolutely delighted to discover we had a private terrace with two chairs and a table; what a bonus! The decor was super, just white walls and dark wood, all in keeping with the lovely building. It was clean, quiet, great shower…..I simply can’t fault it. We made use of the pool, which is small but perfect for a refreshing dip (book in with the reception staff). We had a great stay in Valencia, it’s an interesting and very beautiful city. We felt safe everywhere we went and were impressed with everyone’s friendliness. Highly recommended.

Wonderful hotel – great location about a 15/20 minute stroll to the main square but restaurants, bars and shops en route. Lovely welcoming staff, special mention to Tim who looked after us at breakfast each morning and served a very good Agua de Valencia in the bar! Nice outdoor area as well at the back of the hotel for food and drinks. Very quiet hotel. Rooms are excellent, comfortable beds, great bathroom and shower. Lovely surprise from the hotel to get a bottle of Cava and a fruit platter in the room to celebrate a special birthday. Fantastic stay at the hotel, loved Valencia and will definitely return and the Hospes Palau De Mar will be first choice!
