Considering how expensive it is, you will by far not get your money’s worth. Som many reasons why. There are a few positives: ⁃ A stunning view, if you pay for a room facing the Beagle channel. It really is breathtaking, and the sound of the waves is soothing. ⁃ The breakfast offers a great variety. ⁃ Staff is attentive and welcoming. They are doing their best, and are definitely not to blame for the hotel’s poor standard. The list of negatives is long, I’ll note a few things: ⁃ Overall a really outdated hotel, with at best a three star quality. But you are paying for five. ⁃ My impression is that the owners/managers are counting on that the steady flow of guests in transit (many only staying a few nights, on their way to a cruise etc) means that they can skip any investments /upgrading. No one will return anyway. ⁃ The interior design is, well, lacking. Especially the dining area. ⁃ The room has paper thin walls , you will hear everything your neighbor is doing and everyone passing your door. ⁃ Our “premium” room was very basic, the bathroom even worse. The handrail by the old narrow bathtub was glued to the wall… ⁃ Uncomfortable beds and poor quality sheets. ⁃ Ok equipment in the small gym, but it was really dirty. ⁃ Old sad looking jacuzzis in the spa, one of them not working. ⁃ The hotel is located 30 minutes from the city centre (hence the nice view). There is a free hourly shuttle service, but several times during the day and evening there is a two or three hour gap in the timetable.

Our stay was wonderful from minute one, it was dreamed as we remembered it the first time we came. The quality and excellence is out of this world, we loved every second of our stay. The staff is outstanding in their kindness and courtesy, really a pleasure. The breakfast is really abundant and of high quality as well as the food offered in the restaurant at dinner time. The common areas are really cozy and the SPA really completes the wonderful experience. In addition to the free transfers included to the city center, which makes your vacation a dream come true.

What a delightful place! From a recommendation of our front desk clerk elsewhere, we wondered over to see about spa services. We had a couple hours wait for next available, so headed to the restaurant for lunch. Terrific! Service was good, food was amazing. Relaxed to tea, soup was comforting, meal was savory and desserts were tantalizing. Great water view After lunch enjoyed my massage, friend had a facial - we enjoyed both. Wish we had known to bring swimsuits, we would have relaxed in spa pool afterwards

Great place to stay when in Ushuaia. The property is very well done, and right on the water with great views. Rooms are spacious and very well done, and everyone there was fantastic. It's not walkable to the downtown area, but that's not a bad thing, and an Uber was about $2-3 USD to get into Town. Restaurant and food were also very good. We'd definitely stay there again next time we're in Ushuaia

Absolutely loved this place! I originally waited too late to schedule a hotel driver to pick us up so I had resigned to just grabbing a taxi. A quick email to the hotel and they said they will send a driver complete with a placard and my name on it. Great! Check in was easy and smooth. The front desk staff was great for our entire stay. They asked for our departure date and flight time during check-in to ensure they schedule the hotel driving service to the airport. Got to love that! I reserved a suite with a view of the Beagle channel and patio. It was the best! First night, I ordered a bottle of wine and sat outside for an hour just taking in the view. Amenities were great including a safe, mini refrigerator and coffee maker. The bathroom was large and included a good size shower of grey slate and was made for larger people, complete with a rainwater shower-head. Shower gels, shampoos, conditions were L'Occitane and resupplied daily. Also provided were plenty of towels including wash towels as some travelers have asked about. A full bathtub was also included for those wanting a more relaxing event. One nice amenity was the cold and hot water dispenser available in the hallway, where we filled up our water bottles every day and night. One important thing I noticed every night is how quiet it was a bedtime. Great night sleep for our entire stay! While we did not utilize the spa, the indoor heated pool was nice. A well-appointed gym was also part of the spa experience and would meet just about anyone’s workout needs. Free weights as well as weight machines and treadmills were part of a nice gym experience. The gym may not be open as early as some might like, but when you are on vacation, you adjust! Aside from these features, there is a Concierge on site for most of the day and evening and that was super helpful. This was a nice benefit and one that seems to be missing from other hotels we have stayed at on other vacations. Even if you have plans already scheduled, it is nice to run them past these people just as a reality check. Our schedules were very tight and thankfully we did not have any hiccups. A quick review by someone knowledgeable was a nice confirmation. One of the best features is what I will call the solarium room. A room covered in glass with an incredible view of the Beagle Channel with couches and comfy chairs was the best. Add to that, a waiter will deliver any drink you can come up with from a cappuccino, wine to a pisco sour. I spent way more time in this room than I will admit. Check out was at 10:00 am and we hated to leave, but after breakfast, a hotel staff member took our bags and loaded them on the hotel bus. Sad to leave, but a great hotel stay and a smooth arrival and even smoother departure made our stay the best!

We stayed for 2 nights after a long cruise arriving in Ushuaia very early in the morning. The hotel arranged for us to get into our room early which was so helpful. We loved the view from our bedroom. Dinner portions were generous and the wine delicious. Martina was especially helpful at helping us to check in for our flight when we had problems. We loved our stay!

Amazing Staff - very friendly, attentive to needs and situations of guests. The staff made our stay very special. Stunning views from a peaceful, beautiful, comfortable setting. Every aspect of our time at Los Cauquenes Resort exceeded expectations. The expeditions we booked were highly personalized with highly trained guides, boat captains, etc. Food and beverages also top-notch!

I plan to return to this hotel and can not wait to come back. Love to see and listen to the Beagle Channel at all times of the day and night. Staff was very helpful with answers to various questions. I think with skiing less then 30 minutes away it would be a good place to use as home base.

The hotel is lovely, the rooms are nice and big. The buffet breakfast was great. The staff are kind and efficient. They gave lovely gardens all around the hotel. They have a lovely sun room overlooking the channel they have free wifi and offer a shuttle from the hotel to the town and back free of charge

Beautiful property, great location, excellent food

We just left a 3 day stay here, and after reading some of the reviews, I think there needs to be some understanding for what this hotel offers, where it offers it. Los Cauquenes is situated on an idyllic section of the Beagle Channel and has created large sitting areas in the lobby for all guests to enjoy that look directly onto the Channel and the Chilean Andes across the way. The breakfast is copious and the dining room comfortable. And, again, all the tables have a view of the Channel. The rooms are clean. Ours had the same spectacular view of the Channel as the lobby. There is plenty of closet space to store your things and the heaters are manually operated by turning a knob, there is no thermostat to adjust, but they work, almost too well, but the windows also open if you want to cool things off once you shut off the heaters after getting warm. After an all-day hike in the pouring rain in 40 degree fahrenheit weather, those heaters were a gift to warm us up and dry our clothes out. The staff was very helpful and courteous, the concierge informative and the hotel's private boat excursion was excellent to see the Channel and the wildlife on the archipelagos in the Channel. If you are looking for the the experience of a Ritz Carlton, Los Cauquenes isn't going to be able to provide it, but then again neither is any hotel in Ushuaia. This is a developing and extremely remote town and the hotel exceeds expectations when you bear that in mind. I read some of the previous reviews and think them unfair. The staff is there to meet your needs. Given costs and location, the reviews that say it should be renovated are unfair. My husband and I discussed this and if thought of a few minor things that would greatly enhance the experience to make it feel more like a 4 or 5 star hotel: 1) invest in some bedside devices that allow you to plug in your devices via a cord rather than an outlet on the nightstands 2) invest in some softer pillows 3) offer some washcloths 4) have turndown service with fresh towels so if you've come in from a cold outdoor activity, you know they're on their way We hope to return one day to Ushuaia, this time to go to Antarctica, and if we do, we will certainly return to Los Cauquenes.

Amazing view of the Beagle Channel for New Year's Eve! Staff were super helpful in arranging a car and exchanging pesos to make our stay smooth. Excellent hot tubs with a view, delicious treats upon arrival, and remarkable bathroom/shower. Festive NYE party with good if not great dinner, amazing appetizers, band and tango dancers, and brief dance party. At Cilene you pay for what you get, and what you get is worth the price for an upscale addition to your Patagonian adventure.

It’s a Unique adorable Hotel Experience you will never forget ! You will feel as if you were at home , wonderful Views , tasteful food, Silent and comfortable rooms and the attention of the staff is excellent !!

Amazing experience: great views of Canal de Beagle, excellent stuff services in all areas, confortable rooms and spa. It was a family trip, we got a Patagonia suite, with an extra bed. Everything was just perfect: a superb breakfast with fantastic view. The spa has all the necessary faciities. All the experience was unforgetable. We will return!
