We left the beautiful Village of Turunc on Saturday after a lovely 1 week stay. We have mixed feelings about the hotel. Positives: 1. The hotel itself is beautifully positioned and the sea view from our balcony was stunning. 2. The room was a great size, modern and kept very clean. 3. The hotel has plenty of different areas to sit and drink/eat. 4. The staff around the hotel are very attentive and eager to please/interact 5. The common areas are kept spotlessly clean. 6. The salad offering in the restaurant is excellent 7. Breakfast is limited but there is enough choice available. I recommend the Menemen 8. The pool area is lovely with plenty of sun beds Negatives: 1. The food: the main problem the hotel suffers with is the food offering. We read some reviews which indicated this before we booked and just thought the reviews were probably being a bit picky. They weren't! The food on all days bar one was lukewarm at best, if not, cold. 2. There were s few options for meat eaters each day. My other half is a meat eater, and although the dishes weren't hot, they were tasty 3. I am a vegetarian. There were basically no hot food options available. On the first night my options were. Chips, mashed potato and rice. 4. When i asked the staff what vege options were availabe they showed me to the above and the salad. When asked what hot option there was as a main dish, I was shown only options that contained meat. 5. The next night was effectively a repeat of the above. 6. Note: the hotel displays allergen cards for each dish. The staff don't understand these and when asked said they were just an indication of what might be in the food. Leading on from this, i was taken to look at 2 soups that were indicated to me as vegetarian. However, the allergen card indicated that there was chicken in the soup. They don't seem to understand that the stock might contain meat. 7. We met and discussed this with the really nice Guest Relations lady. She then asked us to provide a list of dishes the chef could prepare. We showed her some Turkish vegetarian options easily found via a Google search. The next night there was a veg option which consisted of a container with sprouts, carrot, cauliflower and broccoli that (no sauce) that was so overcooked it turned to mush when touched and was inedible. The guest relations lady found us the next day and was disappointed by the option. The next night there was a kind if ratatouille, this was hot delicious. The next night the offering was poor again. Just green beans! Each night i was directed to "vegetarian " options that contained meat. Going for a meal each night became something we started to dread, so we ate out instead. Highly recommended the Gypsy Restaurant. 8. Unfortunately, The pool area is not a nice relaxing place to sit and relax/read. There is a large speaker directly by the pool where loud dance music is played throughout the day. Occasionally it was turned down but not for long. We love to sit and relax
