We loved our stay. My BFF and I decided to take advantage of the new Tulum airport for a direct flight - NYC to paradise. We came here for a week of work and R&R. Ana y Jose was the perfect hotel for us. We felt incredibly safe, comfortable and relaxed. The wifi was amazing. We easily worked in room and on beach. Tulum beach has several zones. They are very different. Ana y Jose is in the Hotel Zone. It is several blocks north of the loud party zone. It is on an absolutely PERFECT stretch of pristine Tulum beach. (No sargaso in sight Jan 2025.). There are plenty of beach loungers, umbrellas, etc. drinks and food served on the beach. There is some music on the beach (ranging from Latin to US Pop). It is NOT a party scene. You will NOT be kept up all night with a disco. I love an ocean view - but I have to say, the Garden Rooms here are excellent (new, clean, comfortable, separate WC, double sinks, great shower) and great space for 2 friends (or also a family). They feel like they are in a jungle (due to winding paths) - so not staring at a parking lot. The towels at Ana y Jose are INCREDIBLE— made in Mexico, woven cotton and soft, but not terry- like fluffy turkish towels— thank you for putting these in the room!! The organic and eco friendly bath products are also lovely. Ana y Jose has also gone a LOT greener and I LOVE that! Bring your water bottle! They have installed purified water stations around the complex and there is filtered water in glass bottles in the rooms. NO MORE PLASTIC! Thank you!!!!!! The valet parking with the pull in spot across the street was a huge plus. We knew we could easily access and park our car no hassles. The guy who runs Valet is great - and very helpful. Told us when to walk and when to drive places. Food service is good (stay here for breakfast and lunch/guac & chips - go elsewhere for real meals). Breakfast was included in our room and was fantastic— almost too much. Two choices from the menu — lots of fresh coffee and OJ. Served overlooking the ocean. What a way to start the day! Wendy & Maria, or daily servers at breakfast, were lovely and greeted us with friendly smiles and good humor. They were both incredibly talented waiters and learned our orders quickly. (The male waiters were always much less on top of it. If these 2 women aren’t running the place they should be trained to !) I first came to Ana y Jose in 1994. It was the only hotel here, very rustic, and Tulum was a bus stop. A lot has changed and I have visited this hotel many times over the past 3 decades — it is still a lovely hotel on a perfect beach. Thank you for a wonderful week!
