My son and I checked out of The Brut Hotel yesterday, after a 6-night stay. I was so concerned after reading the negative reviews here that I contemplated cancelling our reservation and booking an Airbnb instead. I called the hotel re. my concerns and was advised to email. I received a prompt reply from Denise Davis, Director of Sales & Marketing, who allayed those concerns, thankfully. I have to say that, having stayed there for almost a week, some of the comments here are less than truthful. Yes, the design of the hotel is minimalist, but this does not mean basic. We loved the stylish modern look and furnishings. There are coffee / tea-making facilities in the room. There is a small car park behind the hotel with an overflow carpark about 200m away. The staff we encountered were obliging and polite at all times. The pool was never busy and we used it on a number of occasions, albeit in the evenings. We were there on holiday, so I can’t make a judgement on a work station, or availability of power outlets, but our ‘Riverside’ room was perfect for our needs. OK, there isn’t a big comfy armchair, but that would be out of step with the style of the hotel. Lastly, as someone who has been afflicted with making several trips to the bathroom during the night all my life, I didn’t have any problems whatsoever with the beds being on a raised platform. There was sufficient light coming from the temperature gauge on the fridge…for me, at least. I always read Tripadvisor reviews ( My husband would argue I put too much faith in them. 😂 ) I don’t usually write reviews unless I really feel strongly that an establishment has been misrepresented, which I believe to be the case in this instance.
